Description

The DSC MX975 is an addressable door or window sensor for the IQ Pro panels. Adding a HSM3105 to the IQ Pro allows it to begin using the MX addressable loop devices. The MX975 connects to the MX addressable loop and can be used on a door or window of choice. It is a hardwired sensor and has four (4) terminals. Two (2) terminals for the MX loop input and another two (2) for the output of the MX loop to connect to other devices or to complete the loop.

The IQ PRO comes in many variations. It is available in a metal or a plastic enclosure. It comes with either a Verizon, AT&T or Telus (Canada) Cellular LTE communicator. Along with PowerG wireless, it is also available with optional support for various legacy wireless frequencies. One option for expansion is using the MX addressable loop. Add the HSM3105 to begin working with the MX addressable loop devices.

The MX975 is an MX addressable loop hardwired sensor with a magnet. It has both alarm and tamper LED indicators. The MX975 mounts to the door or window frame. The magnet mounts on the movable door or window. The magnet should be mounted no more than 1/4" (6.3mm) away from the sensor. The side of the MX975 has a marking to properly align the sensor with the magnet.

To open the sensor you must first remove the screw cover by inserting a small screwdriver into the slot and twisting to pop the cover open. This will reveal the screw that needs to be removed in order to open the sensor. Once opened, the circuit board can be removed by pressing on the flex retainer to release it. Once removed, pre-drilled holes for mounting the sensor to the frame of the door or window are revealed.

To wire the MX975, route the wiring through the cable inlets. The MX975 board contains four (4) wiring terminals. Terminals marked L(+)/L(-) for the MX input (connection to the panel via HSM3105) and terminals marked L(+)/L(-) for the MX output (the next device in the MX loop, where applicable). Mount and wire the MX975 and all other MX devices before powering the panel up. Upon powering up, the auto-enrollment process begins. The device can be set up and configured with the IQ Installer app. Through the app the user has an option to adjust the alarm LED. Choose either LED OFF or LED ON (default) during alarm events. Supervision is hardcoded and cannot be changed from 2.5 seconds per scan. If the MX975 is not heard from for two (2) scanning cycles, or five (5) seconds, then the panel will indicate a supervision trouble condition on the zone.
