The Honeywell Lyric C2 (IPCAM-WIC2) is a robust Total Connect 2.0 Security Camera that supports 1080P recording quality. This high-resolution camera meets today's expectations and ties in with your Honeywell alarm system on Total Connect. Historically, Honeywell alarm owners had to make a choice between lower-resolution Total Connect Cameras versus third-party HD cameras that do not integrate with the same app. The Honeywell next generation IPCAM lineup now offers HD options like the C1, C2 and OC1. The indoor C1 is 720P, while the indoor C2 and the outdoor OC1 serve as 1080P options for Total Connect video services.
The benefit of purchasing a Honeywell Total Connect camera is the ability to trigger cloud storage video recording based on detected pixel changes from the camera, as well as several triggers from the security system itself. These triggers include, but are not limited to, general system operation, such as arming or disarming, and alarm events, such as a burglary or fire alarm. Having cloud-stored video footage of these events can be crucial. The Total Connect app makes live streaming, viewing and downloading recording events an absolute breeze. There is no complicated IT setup that requires a professional installation, and there is no need to open up your network security settings. Simply plug the C2 into wall power, and use the QR scanner to link the camera to your smartphone or tablet.
The Lyric C2 can be placed on a desk or table, but also has the ability for wall or ceiling mounting for a cleaner looking installation. It does require wall power, but both the power cable and transformer are included. There are night vision IR illuminators that allow the C2 to stream and record crisp black & white footage, even in the darkest conditions. One of the most advanced features of this camera is sound detection. Variable sound sensitivity settings can be adjusted to trigger video recording. There is not only a mic for listening, but also a speaker for two-way communications. In other words, if detected pixel changes or sound triggers a recording you will get a text, email and/or push notification. Upon receipt of that alert, a user can open up the TC app and speak through the video camera to anyone in the space with the camera!

The Honeywell IPCAM-WIC2 is an indoor IP camera designed for use with Total Connect 2.0. This device has many great features that make it a top-choice for anyone with access to the TC2 platform. The IPCAM-WIC2 offers crystal-clear 1080p recording quality, and it is extremely easy to install and set up. We think this is an outstanding camera, and we give it a perfect 5 Star Rating.
There are many positive aspects to the Honeywell IPCAM-WIC2. For one, its recording quality is fantastic. Our technicians have found that the images come in very clear on Total Connect 2.0, and you can very easily identify any individuals in the recordings. The camera also offers audio recording capabilities, which is a nice touch as well. The indoor camera can be easily rested on a table or desk, which makes it super easy to get started with for DIY users. If you prefer to mount the camera instead, then all the hardware is included. Mounting the camera isn't too difficult, and it does provide a somewhat neater end result. We also want to praise the IR night vision capabilities of the camera, which make the device suitable for use even in the darkest of environments.
There are not many downsides to the Honeywell IPCAM-WIC2. And quite frankly, most of them come with the territory. As a Total Connect 2.0 IP Camera, the IPCAM-WIC2 can only be used with the Total Connect 2.0 platform. You cannot use it as a standalone camera or with another platform like Alarm.com. If you do not have Total Connect 2.0, then this is not the device for you. Additionally, it cannot be used outdoors. If you need an outdoor camera, you should probably choose the IPCAM-WOC1 instead.
As of October 2019, this is the best indoor Total Connect 2.0 IP Camera. We think this is a tremendous device, and we give it 5 Stars.
