Description
This product was released with the updated part number of LTEM-PIA.
Resideo introduces the LTEM-IA, Dual-Path AT&T LTE Cat-M1 cellular, and Ethernet capable communicator. The LTE Cat-M1 network was created specifically for IoT (Internet of Things) use. It doesn't have the higher speed and large data transfer capabilities of the original LTE network, but the small amount of data transmitted by an alarm panel makes it perfect for use with alarm communication.
In addition to compatibility with the AT&T Cat-M1 network, the LTEM-IA also provides an Ethernet port for IP communication. Most locations have some form of an internet connection already installed, and the Ethernet port on the LTEM-IA allows a user to utilize that connection to its fullest potential. Resideo dual-path communicators use their IP connection, whether it's WIFI, or Ethernet in the case of the LTEM-IA, to communicate to AlarmNet when that connection is available. If the IP connection becomes unavailable, the communicator automatically switches to cellular communication. IP communication is almost always the fastest method of data transfer so Resideo has chosen to use that as the primary path, with cellular as the backup path.
The Resideo LTEM-IA attaches to the panel through a 4-wire keypad bus connection. This is the same configuration used by nearly all AlarmNet compatible communicators. It comes with its own 1361-GT transformer and a backup battery is included to keep the communicator powered on during power outages.
