Schlage BE489 Camelot

The Schlage BE489 WIFI Touchscreen Deadbolt in Camelot Trim is a smart lock that can be used without any special controller hardware. It connects to a 2.4 GHz WIFI network via the Schlage Home App, and once connected, it can be integrated with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or Alarm.com. It is not compatible with Apple HomeKit. Its classic styling will complement any entry door.

The Camelot Trim on the BE489 deadbolt lock offers a traditional, yet modern style. It is available in one of four finishes, including Chrome, Satin Nickel, Matte Black, and Bronze. Once the lock has been added to a 2.4 GHz WIFI network using the Schlage Home app, it can be integrated with Alarm.com using a Server-to-Server integration. Once this is done, the user can control the lock remotely via the Alarm.com customer website or app, and automate the lock using Alarm.com rules. For voice control, you can also integrate with Amazon Alexa and Google Home.

The Schlage BE489 requires four (4) AA Batteries, and alkaline-only batteries are recommended. Attempting to use Lithium or any other rechargeable batteries will cause undesirable results. The lock features a low-battery monitoring feature. You can check the battery life using the Schlage Home App. There is also an LED icon just above the Schlage Logo on the lock's touchscreen. If a code is entered when the battery is low, the icon will flash red. It is recommended that you change the batteries immediately once a low battery condition is indicated. Failure to do so may result in the lock not functioning. If the battery reaches a critically-low battery condition, the icon will illuminate solid, and the electronic features of the lock will cease to function until the batteries are changed.

The BE489 is a Certified Commercial Grade 1 lock and can hold up to 100 separate user codes. It offers a fingerprint-resistant, capacitive touchscreen with a one-touch lock feature. It is guaranteed to fit standard doors (1-3/8 in. to 1-3/4 in. door thickness and 2-3/8 in. or 2-3/4 in. backset or 3.49cm to 4.44cm door thickness and 6.03cm to 6.98cm backset). It has a built-in alarm feature that can sense when someone attempts to breach the lock, and can notify the user via the Schlage Home app if this occurs.
