Regarding Shipping: Like our suppliers, shipping companies have been deeply affected by the COVID-19 epidemic. Please understand, at the moment, shipping speeds are varying from their promised times. While we ship most items promptly, UPS and USPS, are often not getting products to our customers within the promised timeframe. We are unable to offer refunds for slower shipping at the moment, as this is not within our control. We pay for the shipping speed requested, and, at the moment, our shipping partners are unable to meet their own standards of speed and reliability (this is true of overnight as well) We apologize for this, but can't do anything about it. Please be aware, however, that shipping speeds still matter. While 3-day shipping may, sometimes mean 4-day shipping, it will still be faster than Ground. If you need your product quickly, please choose faster shipping, as it will be faster. But do not expect to get the product in the expected timeframe.
To installers: We have seen an uptick in orders from individuals we suspect to be professional installers. If you are here to get product quickly because you are unable to get the product at your usual supplier, rest assured, we are also out of the product and won't be able to fulfill your order in a timely manner. Description
The 2GIG Edge Backup Battery comes included with the 2GIG Edge Alarm System. Its job is to keep the 2GIG Edge running in the event of AC power loss. This could be due to an electrical outage or the plug-in transformer becoming disconnected. The 2GIG Edge Battery plugs into a panel port.
Normally, the 2GIG Edge Security System runs on AC power from its plug-in transformer. While this is happening, the backup battery is slowly storing power in the background. Once AC power loss occurs, the backup battery will automatically kick-in and keep the system running. This backup power source should suffice until AC power is properly restored.
The 2GIG Edge Backup Battery can keep the 2GIG Edge System operational for at least 24 hours. Users who may experience an outage longer than that should consider investing in a power generator or other type of backup power for emergency situations. Like any battery, the Edge Battery will slowly lose its ability to store a charge over time. Eventually, it will need to be replaced with a new one. You should expect this battery to last at least five (5) years.
