Description

The 2GIG RPTR1-345 is a wireless repeater that works with 2Gig's GC3 and GC2 panels as well as Resideo's Lyric panels, to extend the range of wireless devices or provide an alternate signaling path. This product works for both Honeywell 5800 Series as well as 2GIG wireless RF sensors. You can use multiple repeaters with a single system, however a signal can only be repeated once when traveling back to the alarm panel. A single repeater can accept signals from as many sensors as there may within its range. The repeater should be mounted high on a wall to get the best reception for all sensors within range.

The repeater works with all GC3 panel firmware versions but if you want the option to supervise the repeater for low battery, tamper and power loss conditions, the GC3 panel must be running firmware version 3.1 or higher. For GC2 panels, the repeater only works with firmware versions 1.14 or higher. With the Resideo Lyric panel, it must be on firmware MR3 or higher. The zone programming needed for the supervision conditions is not required in order for the device to automatically pass along any Honeywell 5800 Series or 2GIG wireless sensor signals that it hears. As long as a transmitter is within range on one side of the repeater, and the alarm panel is within range on the other side of the repeater, the RF signals should be delivered.

The repeater includes a 24-hour backup battery and the power supply needed to power the unit which plugs into a standard wall outlet. The wire to connect the power supply to the repeater is not included. The LT-CABLE can be used if the outlet is within eight feet of the repeater mounting location.

Note: The 2GIG RPTR1-345 will not repeat the signal for bi-directional (2-way) communication devices like the Honeywell 5828 Keypad and the 5800WAVE Siren. Keep this in mind when system planning.

Astounding Repeater!

The 2GIG RPTR1-345 is a wireless repeater designed for use with 2GIG 345 MHz Sensors and Honeywell 5800 Sensors. Using this repeater can effectively double the signal range for a compatible wireless sensor. However, the repeater has some restrictions in how it can be used. And while it comes with a plug-in transformer, it does not have a cable for connecting the transformer. But it does include a backup battery for providing a backup power source. Overall, we think the 2GIG RPTR1-345 is a great product, and we give it a 5 Star rating.

There are many aspects we appreciate about regarding the 2GIG RPTR1-345. For one, it can double the range of compatible wireless sensors when positioned appropriately. The 2GIG RPTR1-345 works quite reliably and it is easy for DIY users to set up. We also like the fact that it has LED lights to assist with using the device. The repeater is versatile in the fact that it is used with both Honeywell 5800 Sensors and 2GIG 345 MHz Sensors.

But there are also some downsides to the 2GIG RPTR1-345 that should be considered. Although a plug-in transformer is included, no wiring is provided, so you will need to supply your own. Although the 2GIG RPTR1-345 works with most Honeywell 5800 Sensors, it does not work with those that use two-way communication. Therefore, you cannot use the 2GIG RPTR1-345 with devices like the Honeywell 5828 Keypad and the Honeywell 580WAVE Siren. Also, you cannot repeat a signal more than once, so don't expect using multiple 2GIG RPTR1-345 devices to repeat signals over and over. But you can have two 2GIG RPTR1-345 modules in different directions from the main panel to repeat signals incoming from different sides. Lastly, the RPTR1-345 cannot be used with 2GIG encrypted sensors.

Alarm Grid highly recommends the 2GIG RPTR1-345. It gets 5 Stars.

Good: Doubles Range, Easy to Install, LED Lights, Versatile

Bad: No Wiring, Not for 2-Way 5800 Sensors, Cannot Repeat Signals More than Once

Bottom Line: 5 Stars

Hi Caleb, According to the Manufacturer's instruction sheet the battery is an 800mAh 3.7V Lithium Ion Battery (Unfortunately it is a custom size and shape and listed by the manufacturer as a non-replaceable part). If you are able to find an exact replacement, it will void any warranty and you would be replacing at your own risk.
I have a customer with a "low battery" alert on their system for their repeater, what battery can I use to replace that with? Have you heard of this issue before?
Hi Sean, Unfortunately we do not support the cove security system. We'd glad to help if you were interested or had any of the following security system https://www.alarmgrid.com/browse/home-security-systems. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.
I installed this to boost a signal from a Cove security system. I tripped the tamper while installing and now I can't clear it back to green. Any advice?
No, as this only works for 2Gig and Honeywell 5800 Series sensors that use the 345 Mhz range, it wouldn't boost signaling from a Lyric to a SiX sensor. There currently is no repeater option for SiX devices but as SiX devices should work up to 300' from the panel and 5800 Series sensors should work 200' from the panel, using this repeater or the Honeywell 5800RP (https://www.alarmgrid.com/products/honeywell-5800rp ) would give you up to 400' range so you could swap out a SiX device that is too far away and replace it with a 5800 Series device using a repeater.
Will this work with the newer Honeywell systems (SiX)? Thanks
