The 2GIG TS1-E is a wireless touchscreen keypad for use with the 2GIG GC2 and 2GIG GC2e alarm panels only. The E in the name stands for English, not encrypted. In order to support the keypad, the panel must be on firmware version 1.10 or higher. Use of the 2GIG TS1-E requires that the 2GIG GC2 panel have the 2GIG-XCVR2-345 installed or in the case of the GC2e, the 2GIG XCVR2e-345. Once the transceiver module is installed, up to four (4) TS1-E keypads can be enrolled.
The 2GIG TS1-E provides many of the same keypad functions as the alarm panel itself. With it you can view system status for all zones, arm and disarm the system, and control Z-Wave lights, thermostats, and door locks that are associated with the panel. The keypad comes with an AC transformer that requires the user or installer to run wire from the transformer to the keypad. TS1-E keypads marked with a serial number greater than 1405XXXXXXXXXXXX also include a female barrel connector for power. The 2GIG AC2-PLUG is another compatible transformer with a male barrel connector, and a ten (10) foot pre-made cable that makes powering the keypad on and off much simpler. The Honeywell LT-Cable is also a pre-made cable with a barrel connector that can be used to connect the TS1-E to its included transformer. The LT-Cable is eight (8) feet long. DC voltage measured at the back of the TS1-E should not fall below 14VDC to prevent nuisance "AC Power Loss" messages from the keypad.

Important Note: The TS1-E uses a DC Power Adapter, so be sure to observe proper polarity when connecting wires to either the power adapter or the panel if the barrel connector is not used.
The 2GIG TS1-E communicates with the panel using 900MHz with Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS). This is why the 2GIG XCVR2-345 or 2GIG XCVR2e-345 transceiver module (each sold separately) must be installed in the panel before it can support the keypad. Because it uses 900MHz, with its longer range, the keypad can operate up to 500 feet away from the panel in an open-air environment.
The 2GIG TS1-E is a convenient way to add another point of control for your 2GIG GC2 or 2GIG GC2e panel. The All-in-One (AiO) nature of these systems means that without the addition of a remote keypad, or the use of a security key fob, local viewing of status, arming and disarming, or control of Z-Wave devices would require the user to either walk to the panel, or use the Alarm.com app on their phone. Also, since the alarm panel is an (AiO) it is a good idea to place the panel in a more central location in the home, and place a TS1-E near the entry and exit door or doors. The keypad can also act as a decoy for an intruder. The intruder will see and hear the TS1-E indicating an alarm and may attempt to destroy it, thinking they are destroying the main system. In the meantime, the actual alarm panel is transmitting alarm signals.
It is recommended that the 2GIG TS1-E be mounted at about eye level when wall mounting. It should be installed in a location with AC power nearby. Avoid attempting to mount where there is a wall stud, existing electrical wires inside the wall, and/or water pipes or duct work. The 2GIG TS1-DESK can be used if you prefer to desk mount the keypad.
