Description

The 2GIG GC2e Wireless Security System is a robust and versatile panel that provides the perfect foundation to your home security setup. The panel is great for any home or apartment where reliable and dependable protection is the top priority. It makes a fantastic addition to any household.

2GIG from Nortek has been well-known in the security industry for quite some time. The company has achieved great success with their older GC2 and GC3 Systems. The GC2e is the successor to the Go!Control GC2 Alarm Panel. End users who upgrade to the GC2e from the older GC2 will appreciate the new system's familiar layout and intuitive touchscreen controls. This is the perfect system if you are already used to the GC2 Panel, but you want something more modern and updated.

The biggest new feature for the GC2e is the ability to use the all-new encrypted wireless sensors from 2GIG. Wireless hacking and takeover attempts represent a serious concern for the security industry. With an encrypted system like the GC2e, you can stop intruders from taking control over your system and ensure that your home stays protected no matter what. This can be very important for achieving proper peace of mind and keeping your household safe.

In addition to the 2GIG encrypted sensors, the GC2e is also backwards compatible with the existing 2GIG 345 MHz Sensors and the Honeywell 5800 Sensors. This makes the GC2e a good system to purchase if you have any of these older sensors. Just keep in mind that you will only receive the added protection of wireless encryption when you use the 2GIG encrypted sensors with the GC2e System.

Another great benefit of the 2GIG GC2e is its internal Z-Wave Plus controller. By supporting Z-Wave Plus technology with its 500-Series Controller, Z-Wave Plus peripherals will experience longer battery life and extended wireless range when used with the GC2e. This makes the GC2e the ideal home automation controller for all sorts of smart home devices, including thermostats, door locks and smart lighting controls. The GC2e supports Z-Wave Plus technology right out of the box, with no additional equipment being needed.

But the GC2e is more than just a GC2 System with some internal upgrades. The system's exterior has a refreshed design that feels sleeker and cleaner than the original Go!Control Panel. It is brighter, more vibrant, and sure to fit-in nicely with the decor of any modern home. End users will also appreciate the larger touchscreen of the GC2e, which measures 5" across in diameter. This makes it easy to see exactly what you are doing and provide you with confidence whenever you are operating your system.

If you want to get the most out of your GC2e System, then you will definitely want to get an Alarm.com LTE Cellular Communicator. This will provide your system with the most reliable communication path possible and allow you to connect the panel with the Alarm.com Servers. Alarm.com is an interactive security and automation platform that you can access remotely from a convenient mobile app.

You can use the Alarm.com platform to arm and disarm your system, check current system status, control Z-Wave devices, view the live feed for ADC Security Cameras, and more. The GC2e Alarm System will actually support the same cellular communicators that the older GC2 System used. We recommend using the AT&T LTE Communicator or the Verizon LTE Communicator. You should choose whichever service tends to work better in your area. Please note that you will also need an alarm monitoring plan from Alarm Grid that includes cellular connectivity and access to Alarm.com.

The 2GIG GC2e System supports up to 60 wireless zones, a single hardwired zone, eight (8) keyfobs, four (4) wireless keypads (2GIG TS1 and/or 2GIG PAD1-345), a wired bell output and up to 64 unique user codes. It uses a 1.7A 14VDC transformer for power, which comes included with the panel. However, you will still need some cabling to connect the transformer. We recommend using a Honeywell LT-Cable for this purpose. Firmware updates for the GC2e can be applied over-the-air (OTA) from Alarm.com or locally using an updater tool.

What kind of power do you have available outside? Is it a DC power source, and if so, how much current is available? The output on the panel will only provide 120mA of current. Not enough for a high-current sounder. You can use a 3rd Party Relay, activated by the panel's output. You can then break one leg of power through the relay to activate it when the panel has an audible alarm. Our outdoor sirens and strobes can be seen on this page.
Hello! I have a 2GIG-GC2E-345 alarm panel & would like to install an outside siren. I understand that this panel has bell terminals that enable me to do this. My problem is that I don’t know which outdoor siren to buy. I have power outside already but i’ll have to run an additional wire from the outdoor siren to the panel. Please tell me which outdoor siren to buy and provide me with a wiring diagram. Thank you!
