Description

The DSC MX945 is an MX addressable loop device for the IQ Pro panels. It allows you to connect a standard hardwired sensor to the addressable MX loop. It is compatible with normally open and normally closed contacts. To add the MX945, you want to make sure you have a DSC HSM3105 MX addressable loop module. All MX devices require the HSM3105 to provide the MX addressable loop connections.

The IQ PRO comes in many variations. It is available in a metal or a plastic enclosure. It comes with either a Verizon, AT&T or Telus (Canada) Cellular LTE communicator. Along with PowerG wireless, it is also available with optional support for various legacy wireless frequencies. One option for expansion is using the MX addressable loop. Add the HSM3105 to begin working with the MX addressable loop devices.

The DSC MX945 is also being called the Digital Loop Mini-IAM (Individual Addressable Module). It communicates directly with the HSM3105 MX Digital Loop Module. You can wire standard intrusion devices to it. Things such as door and window contacts, motion detectors, and glass break detectors. When possible, it's always preferred to only use one (1) contact per MX945, but multiple contacts can be used together. Although, you cannot mix normally open with normally closed contacts. The downfall to using multiple contacts on the same zone is, you will never be able to decipher which contact is faulted, without troubleshooting with a multimeter.

The MX945 also has connections to wire an alarm LED for visual indications. The LED should be mounted in the same electrical enclosure and be rated for 10mA or less. The LED can be configured with the IQ Installer App but is set to ON by default.

The MX945 can be installed with the included mounting tab in any enclosure that it fits in. The temperature can range from 32°F to 120°F. The connections on the MX945 allow for connections to the previous MX device and another set for the next MX device. It also has two (2) terminals for the alarm LED, as mentioned earlier. Shielded wiring is not required, but if used, there is a terminal to connect to the shield of the wire. Only one (1) wire should be connected to each terminal.

The detectors should be wired into the IQ Pro's MX loop before powering on and starting the auto-enroll process. You will also have the option to change any default settings using the IQ Pro Installer app, available for Apple and Android devices. With the installer app, you can adjust whether the LED comes on during alarm or turn off the feature. When powered up, the MX945 will be assigned a device address, this is 255 by default. The IQ PRO will assign a new address based on the device's loop address. Always verify and note this address at this time to be able to properly include the MX945 into the IQ Pro.
