DSC PGP9986

The DSC PGP9986 is a PowerG+ flood and freeze detector aka water tile. PowerG+ is an encrypted wireless technology with battery level reporting and allows dealers to lockdown sensors. The PGP9986 can detect water to prevent floods. It also has the option to alert you when the temperature drops to dangerous levels to prevent freezing. The PGP9986 is versatile and also backwards compatible to work with alarm panels that only support PowerG. If the panel does not support PowerG+ but supports PowerG, the PGP9986 will work in a legacy mode.

DSC also offers remote probes that can extend the detection area of the water tile, alone. There is the PGP-WT-SC6 with a 6' sensing cable that detects water along the entire cable, or If you need a more targeted detection, DSC also offers the PGP-WT-PRB remote probe.

The PGP9986 also includes a freeze sensor that monitors for low temperatures. If the temperature drops to a dangerous level that could cause pipes to freeze, it alerts the alarm panel right away. This helps prevent costly repairs and keeps your property safe during cold weather.

With easy out-of-band enrollment and battery pull tabs, the detector is quick to install. It uses long-lasting batteries and reports battery levels to the panel so you know when it’s time to replace them. The device also supports over-the-air firmware updates, keeping it current without needing physical updates.

It features tamper protection on the front and back, so if someone tries to remove or open it, your system will know. The PGP9986 works with PowerG+ enabled panels like the IQ5 family of panels, and the IQ Panel 4, IQ Hub, and IQ4 NS, as long as they have been upgraded to firmware 4.6.1 or higher. The PGP9986 also works on the IQ Pro, and older PowerG systems in legacy mode.
