DSC PGPHOST9

The DSC PGPHOST9 is a PowerG and PowerG+ wireless host transceiver designed to add wireless device support to compatible IQ Pro, DSC PowerSeries Neo and PowerSeries Pro alarm systems. It provides the communication link between the alarm panel and compatible PowerG wireless sensors, key fobs, repeaters, automation devices, and other supported equipment.

The DSC PGPHOST9 utilizes simple QR code enrollment for ease and simplicity. When enrolled into an IQ Pro, it supports PowerG automation, IQ Hardwire PowerG, and IQ Remote-PG. When enrolled into the DSC PowerSeries Neo or PowerSeries Pro, this host module enrolls in legacy or fallback mode.

PowerG is known for its long range, 128-bit, AES encrypted wireless. If even more range is needed, the PGPHOST9 is compatible with PowerG wireless repeaters PG9920 and PGP9920.

When connected to an IQ Pro, the PGPHOST9 provides support for both traditional PowerG devices and newer PowerG+ capabilities. This includes support for PowerG Automation, IQ Hardwire PowerG, and the IQ Remote-PG. The exact number and types of supported wireless devices depend on the control panel, but the PGPHOST9 can support configurations with up to 128 wireless zones and 32 wireless keys.

The PGPHOST9 can also be used with DSC PowerSeries Neo and PowerSeries Pro systems. With these panels, however, the module operates in legacy or fallback mode. This distinction is important because PowerSeries Neo and PowerSeries Pro can use the PGPHOST9 for traditional PowerG functionality, but they do not receive the same PowerG+ features available when the transceiver is connected to an IQ Pro.

PowerG technology provides two-way wireless communication between compatible devices and the security system. Enrolled wireless detectors are fully supervised for communication integrity, allowing the system to recognize when a wireless device is no longer communicating properly. For installations requiring additional wireless coverage, the PGPHOST9 is also compatible with the PG9920 and PGP9920 PowerG repeaters.

The PGPHOST9 communicates with the alarm controller through a four-wire Corbus connection. The module can be installed up to 1,000 feet (304 m) from the main control panel when properly wired, giving installers considerable flexibility when choosing a location for the wireless transceiver. This can be particularly helpful when the alarm panel enclosure is located in an area that is not ideal for wireless communication.

The DSC PGPHOST9 replaces the older HSM2HOST9 PowerG Host Transceiver. It expands on the role of the previous module by supporting PowerG+ functionality when paired with the IQ Pro, while maintaining legacy PowerG support for compatible PowerSeries Neo and PowerSeries Pro systems.
