Qolsys IQ Heat 135/200

The IQ Heat 135/200 is a wireless heat by Qolsys. It operates on the 319.5MHz frequency. The IQ Heat 135/200 has 2 fixed temperature options. By the placement of a jumper you can select a fixed temperature of either 135°F (57°C) or 200°F (93°C). Along with the fixed temperature, it also senses a Rate-of-Rise (RoR) of 12°F to 15ºF (6.7 to 8.3ºC) per minute.

Qolsys previously produced two (2) separate heat detectors. The IQ Heat 135 and the IQ Heat 200. They both have been discontinued. Those products' discontinuation notice stated material issues as the main cause. The IQ Heat 135/200 replaces both of those previous sensors. It has the ability to do everything those two (2) sensors did, all in one unit.

The IQ Heat 135/200 wireless heat detector uses electronic processing to detect heat conditions. The micro-processor trips the transmitter when the temperature at the detector's mounting location reaches the selected fixed temperature (135°F or 200°F), or senses a rapid rise in temperature of 12°F to 15ºF per minute.

Qolsys heat sensors are good complements to Qolsys smoke detectors. They should not be the sole method of detecting life safety events. The IQ Heat 135/200 has the option to detect two (2) different fixed temperatures by a jumper located on the sensor. The detector should arrive set as 135°F by the default location of the jumper (left two pins), but moving the jumper to the two right pins selects a 200°F fixed temperature. To change the fixed temperature setting, remove the Panasonic CR123A battery, before changing the jumper. If the jumper gets removed and not re-installed, the detector will default to the 200°F setting.

The Qolsys IQ Heat 135/200 includes a tamper on the back side, that alerts the panel if the unit is removed from the ceiling or the wall. The backplate gets mounted with up to four (4) mounting holes. The heat detector attaches to the base by aligning it with the backplate and turning clockwise.

The IQ Heat 135/200 has a cool test feature. Before testing though, please be sure to notify your central station, if you are a central station monitored customer. There is a marked location on the side of the heat detector. To test, hold a magnet on that marked location for around fifteen (15) seconds. This will cause the heat sensor to send an alarm to the control panel, sounding a fire alarm. After testing, enter a disarming command will silence the alarm. Removing the magnet before disarming should also cause the alarm to be reset. If the detector trips by detecting heat, Qolsys indicates that it can be reset by removing the battery, pressing and holding the tamper for 5-10 seconds, and then re-installing the battery. The IQ Heat 135/200 may also auto reset after the sensor has cooled.
