Description

In this video, James the Video Guy from Alarm Grid shows off one of the most popular Alarm Grid Security System Kits, the Honeywell Lyric AT&T LTE 10-1 Kit. This complete system kit comes with a Honeywell Lyric Alarm Panel, ten (10) VERSA-2GIG Door/Window Sensors, one Honeywell SIXPIR Motion Detection Sensor, a Honeywell LYRICLTE-A AT&T LTE Communicator, and a Honeywell LT-Cable for connecting the Lyric Panel to its included plug-in transformer. This is every physical item you need to get started using the Lyric Security System. There is just the intangible aspect of signing-up for monitoring service on an appropriate monitoring plan.

The Lyric is a robust and powerful alarm system that is suitable for almost any home or business needing alarm monitoring service. In terms of getting started with a new security system, some good aspects of the Lyric include its touchscreen controls, its built-in WIFI, its 128 wireless zones, and its ability to simultaneously support both encrypted Honeywell SiX Sensors and non-encrypted 345 MHz sensors from the Honeywell 5800 Series and the 2GIG 345 MHz Series. With this kit, you will have an impressive and dependable wireless security system that is ready to protect your home or office.

One thing to keep in mind with this system kit is that it is intended for dual-path connectivity, with both IP and cellular. As a result, you will need a monitoring plan that includes cellular service in order to take full advantage of what this system kit can offer. A great example of a monitoring plan that is suitable for use with this Lyric Dual-Path System Kit is a Gold Plan from Alarm Grid. Either a Full Central Station Gold Plan or an Alarm Grid Self-Gold Plan would be fine. Additionally, if you wanted to add Honeywell Total Connect 2.0 IP Cameras in conjunction with your Honeywell Lyric System, then you would need to upgrade to a Platinum Plan from Alarm Grid.

[MUSIC PLAYING] Hey, DIYers. This is James the Video Guy here. Today, we're going to be unboxing the Honeywell Lyric AT&T LTE 10-1 kit. Let's get started. This kit comes with the Honeywell Lyric controller, the SiXPIR motion detector, the cellular communicator, the LT power cable, and 10 Versa Mini door and window contacts. A few features on the Lyric Controller-- it supports up to 72 Z-Wave devices. Almost any Z-Wave device can be included to the Lyric. The Lyric supports up to six Z-Wave thermostats, six Z-Wave door locks, and 60-- six, zero-- light modules, light dimmers, appliance modules, window shades blinds, garage doors, water valves, and sirens or strobes. Next up, we have the SiXPIR motion detector. The Honeywell SiXPIR is a wireless passive infrared motion sensor, which uses Honeywell SiX series encrypted wireless protocol to communicate securely with the Lyric controller alarm system. It has an attractive modern design, with a rounded lens that fits unobtrusively into any decor. The SiXPIR has a coverage area of 40 feet by 56 feet. It could be mounted flat to the wall or corner mounted. You will also receive 10 Versa Mini door and window contacts. The Versa Mini provides an excellent solution for wirelessly monitoring a door or window. These sensors look great, install easily, and will work well with your new Lyric. The LYRICLTE-A offers a way to further future-proof your advanced Lyric security system. Cellular communications ensure that your alarm system has a reliable path to Honeywell's alarm net server, regardless of local power outage or ISP issues that may affect local internet connections. Honeywell has decided to offer this device as a means to acquire faster cellular speeds and look toward the future. And finally, the Honeywell LT-CABLE, a universal security system power supply cable. This cable offers a way to power cycle an alarm system without disconnecting the transformer from the wall, nor having to use any tools to loosen screw terminals at the panel. So I know what you're thinking, OK, well, this is the kit. What actually comes with it? I'm glad you asked. Let's take a look. Beginning with the Lyric Controller, first we have this lovely piece of cardboard. Next, is a welcome packet with detailed information on your Lyric Controller. We have the Lyric itself. There are mounting screws, in case you decide to put your Lyric on the wall. We also have the AC transformer, a programming guide for your Lyric, there's a language supplement so you can choose which language you prefer the Lyric to display, and lastly, a guide to programming the Lyric for using Apple's HomeKit. The SiXPIR passive infrared motion detector-- inside the box, you will find the actual motion detector, of course. These strips of tape go on the back of the motion detector and will allow you to either-- oop, oop, sorry. They'll allow you to either corner-mount the device or place it flat against the wall. You'll also find a quick installation guide that will show you how to open and roll and place the motion detector for best results. The Versa Mini is a compact wireless security contact for doors, and windows and any other objects that open and close. On the back, you'll find 3M tape, which will make mounting very easy. You'll find the operating instructions inside the box that the Versa comes in, including installing the Versa and mounting guidelines. The LYRICLTE Digital Cellular Communicator-- this communication module allows the Lyric Controller to communicate with the central station via the cellular radio network. It comes with an installation guide, showing you how to install the module for the first time, and checking the signal strength. And when you're installing the Communicator, you will need this screw. And last but not least, we have the LT-CABLE. This is the power cable. It attaches to the transformer, with these leads attaching here at these leads, which gives AC power to the Lyric. Just remember that this transformer converts AC to DC power, so when you hook up the LT-CABLE, proper polarity must be observed. So that's the Honeywell Lyric AT&T LTE 10-1 kit.
