Keyfobs That Are Compatible With the IQ Panel 2 Plus
In this video, Jorge talks about the key fobs that are compatible with the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus. The compatibility depends on which version of the IQ Panel 2 Plus is being used. There are three versions of the alarm panel. These include a 319.5 MHz version, a 345 MHz version and a 433 MHz version.
All versions of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus include a PowerG daughterboard. This allows them to support PowerG Key Fobs that operate at 915 MHz. You will be able to use these key fobs regardless of which version of the IQ Panel 2 Plus you are using. PowerG Key Fobs make a great selection, as they feature an extended wireless range and 128-bit AES encryption.
In addition to the PowerG daughterboard, an IQ Panel 2 Plus System will also include a single legacy daughterboard. This determines which types of legacy sensors can be used with the system, and it ultimately affects key fob compatibility. The three legacy options are 319.5 MHz, 345 MHz and 433 MHz. End users should consider which types of sensors they want to use with the system before purchasing an IQ Panel 2 Plus.
If you have a 319.5 MHz IQ Panel 2 Plus, then you can use key fobs made by Qolsys and Interlogix/GE. These key fobs operate at 319.5 MHz, which will allow them to work with the system. Qolsys offers an S-Line Key Fob that uses rolling code encryption for added security. Other than the PowerG Key Fobs, this is the only compatible key fob that offers encryption.
If you have a 345 MHz IQ Panel 2 Plus, then you can use key fobs manufactured by Honeywell and 2GIG. However, you will not be able to use the Honeywell SiXFOB. This is a key fob that operates at a different frequency from the usual 345 MHz frequency. It is designed exclusively for the Honeywell Lyric Controller, and it will not work with any version the IQ Panel 2 Plus. However, you will be able to use Honeywell 5800 Series Key Fobs and all non-encrypted 2GIG Key Fobs. Also note that the 433 MHz IQ Panel 2 Plus supports legacy DSC Key Fobs.
Hey, DIYers. I'm George from Alarm Grid. Today, we're going to be going over which key fobs are compatible with your IQ 2 Plus panel. So first thing you need to understand about the IQ 2 Plus is that every single IQ2 2 Plus comes with a power G daughter board card. PowerG daughter board card is a different receiver that's added to the panel It's a 915 megahertz frequency. So it communicates back and forth with all PowerG sensors. Now, PowerG sensors are known to have a huge range. It's supposed to have a bigger range than Honeywell, DSC, 2GIG, Interlogix, QOLSYS S line, all those kind of sensors. The PowerG daughter board cards, when you use them with the correct panel, they're said to go up to two kilometers, open air, right? So that's point of view. That's not going through construction, through walls, stuff like that. So obviously, the signal does get decreased, but the PowerG daughter board card range, the rating is up that high. All right. So all IQ 2 Plus panels, since they have a PowerG daughter board card, you can technically use any of the PowerG key fobs that are available, that are obviously-- key fobs are wireless. So it will need to be a wireless PowerG key fob. If you have an IQ 2 Plus, those will all work with the IQ 2 Plus. Now, the other thing you guys need to understand is there's three versions of the IQ 2 Plus. Each version has a different legacy receiver. So for instance, one has a Honeywell and 2GIG receiver, which is 345 megahertz. Another IQ 2 panel has Interlogix and S line QOLSYS receiver, which is 319.5 megahertz. And then there's another IQ 2 Panel Plus that has a DSC receiver. So that is for DSC wireless sensors and that has a 433 megahertz receiver. So basically, depending on which one you have is going to dictate which key fobs you can use. So for instance, if I have the Honeywell and 2GIG, you can use any of the 5800 series key fobs or any of the 2GIG series key fobs. And then obviously, PowerG as well. If I have the DSC one, I can use DSC key fobs and PowerG key fobs. And then the last bit but not least, the Interlogix and QOLSYS panel, you can use those Interlogix and QOLSYS key fobs, and you can use PowerG key fobs. Now, I don't have any of the key fobs with me right now. But if you go to our FAQ, we actually have a huge list of all the different kind of key fobs that you can use. So if you guys do have any questions at all, whatsoever, feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. So to figure out which IQ 2 panel you guys actually have, you can actually look at the siding, the little trim on the box that the IQ 2 Plus panel came in. If it has a gold trim, that is the QOLSYS and S line IQ 2 Panel Plus. If it has a silver trim, that is the Honeywell and 2GIG IQ 2 Plus. And then if it has a red trim, that is the DSC IQ 2 Plus. Another easy way of knowing which IQ 2 Plus panel you have, you can always go into the settings of your IQ 2 Plus. Go into the source and see what sources you have. You should see it come up as 319 or as PowerG. So for instance, if I go to my panel right here, I'll hit the top button. I'll go to Settings. I'm going to go to Advanced Settings. Entering my installer or dealer code-- mine is defaulted at 1111 or 2222. I go to Installation. Devices. Security Sensors. I go to Add a Sensor And then under source, you can actually look at that. And you'll see here that I have a 319. So this is going to be the QOLSYS and the Interlogix IQ 2 panel that I have. If you have a Honeywell one, it'll say 345, or 2GIG-- Honeywell or 2GIG, it will say 345. If you have DSC, it'll say 433. All right. So that is just a quick way to kind of show you guys how to figure out which key fobs you can use for your IQ 2 Plus.
