Description

The Interlogix TX-4200-01-1 Wireless Personal Panic Device is a wearable device that allows users to immediately request for help in the event of an emergency. The center of the device features a large help button that is easy for the wearer to access in a serious situation. This device is great for elderly or disabled individuals who may experience a medical emergency at any given time. Some users also keep the device in a convenient location so that they can quickly contact the police in case of a break-in or a robbery. The device will request for police, fire or medical help depending upon its system programming settings and how the alarm company configures the dispatching settings during the alarm activation.

In its default layout, the device comes in the form of a wristband. However, the device can alternatively be set up to be worn as a pendant around the neck if desired. Either way, the sensor is typically worn at all times by the user. By using this sensor, an individual can enjoy greater independence, and their loved ones will experience peace of mind in knowing that they can call for help at any time. The device is even water-resistant with an IP68 waterproof rating. This means that it can safely be worn in the shower or kept beside a bathtub for easy access. It is also resistant to both chlorine and UV rays, ensuring that the device will remain functioning properly in a pool or at the beach.

To activate the device, press and hold the help button until the red LED lights on the side begin to flash, and then continue to hold the button until the red lights stop illuminating. By requiring the button to be pressed and held for this slightly extended period of time, false alarms are minimized. The device will function up to 375 feet away from the alarm system. Many users turn off RF supervision for the device so that they can take it with them whenever they leave the house. This can help the user get into the proper habit of wearing the device at all times.

The panic device communicates at a wireless frequency of 319.5 MHz. This makes it compatible with any Interlogix Simon Alarm System and any Qolsys Alarm System with a 319.5MHz legacy daughtercard. It uses a lithium CR1632 battery that will require replacement roughly every five years depending upon usage. The device is available in both white and black colors. The white sensor is model number TX-4200-01-1. The black version is model number TX-4200-01-2. Make sure to check the model number when purchasing based on your color preference.

The Interlogix TX-4200-01-1 is discontinued wearable panic button that operates at 319.5 MHz. You pair the device with your compatible alarm panel to a wireless zone, and then you can press the button on the device to trigger an immediate alarm if you need help. The device can be set up to trigger a police panic, a fire alarm, or an auxiliary medical alarm, depending on how you program the associated wireless zone. Overall, this is a nice panic button, and it offers some cool features. That is why we give it a 5-Star rating.

There are many positive aspects associated with the Interlogix TX-4200-01-1. For one, you can program the device to trigger the type of alarm that you want, which makes it quite versatile. The sensor is wearable, as you or your loved one can keep it on at all times as a wristband or necklace. It is also water-resistant with an IP68 rating, allowing it to be taken into the shower without any problem. It can also resist chlorine and UV rays. There is an LED light on the device to let you know when it has been successfully activated. You need to press and hold the button to activate, which helps prevent false alarms.

There are not many downsides for the Interlogix TX-4200-01-1. One obvious issue is that the device has been discontinued, so you are unlikely to find it new. Used models should still work okay though. Also, you can only program it for one zone and function. This means that you can't use the device for multiple functions, such as being used for both police panics and medical alarms. Other issues include the device's finite wireless range and the need to periodically replace its batteries. But these issues are relatively minor, and we still give the TX-4200-01-1 a 5-Star rating.

Good: Choose Alarm Type In Programming, Wearable, IP68, Resists Chlorine & UV Rays, LED Light, Prevents False Alarms

Bad: Discontinued, Only Program For One Function, Limited Range, Requires Batteries

Bottom Line: 5 Stars
