Can I monitor a Honeywell Systems w/o Land Lines?

Yes, Honeywell home security systems can be monitored without a land line. A Honeywell security system can be monitored by internet, wifi, cell communicator or dual path communication which is internet or wifi along with a cell communicator. The internet would be the first path of communication and if for some reason the signal does not go through, the cell communicator will kick in and send the signal.

Each series of systems have their own compatible device compatible to provide communication options.

The Vista series cell communicators are the GSMV4G, GSMX4G,, GSMV4G-TC2 (which comes with a Total Connect 2.0 15P and 20P upgrade chip), GSMX4G-TC2 (which comes with a Total Connect 15P and 20P upgrade chip). For internet communication, Honeywell’s 7847i. For dual path communication is Honeywell’s iGSMV4G. The Vista 21iP control panel comes with a built in 7847i for internet communication and the compatible cell communicator is Honeywell’s Vista-GSM4G.

The Lynx Touch series cell communicator is Honeywell’s GSMVLP5-4G. For wifi connection Honeywell’s L5100WIFI and for internet communication Honeywell’s ILP5 internet communicator.

The Lynx Plus compatible cell communicator is Honeywell’s GSMVLP4G.

It’s very common for households to not have a land line. Honeywell provides the options so a user can have the system monitored without needing a land line. Internet and Wifi are the least expensive paths, however if the internet goes down so does the communication for the alarm system. A cell communicator is considered the most reliable path of communication with dual communication being on top.
