Yes, you can disable the internal siren on a DSC Impassa. The internal siren option is found within the 11th System Options Menu, which is assigned programming option 024. You can access the 11th System Options Menu through System Programming, which requires entering the Installer Code.
The internal siren for the DSC Impassa operates at 85 dB. The siren will activate during any alarm event if the feature is enabled. By disabling the siren, it will not activate for any reason. However, silent alerts can still be sent to the user and/or a central station if the system is monitored.
Complete the following steps to disable the internal siren on a DSC Impassa:
1. Access programming. To access programming on a DSC Impassa, enter in the command [*]  [Installer Code]. The screen will display "Enter Section", indicating that you have accessed programming. The default Installer Code for the DSC Impassa is 5555.
2. Enter 11th System Options. Enter in the code . This is the section for the 11th System Options Menu. The option for the system's internal siren is found within this menu.
3. Toggle the siren. Within the 11th System Options Menu, the Internal Siren Option is Option 3. If there is a # next to 3, then the internal siren is On. If there is a - next to 3, then the internal siren is Off. To toggle between On and Off, press the  button. Make sure that there is a - next to the 3, indicating that the internal siren is Off.
4. Exit programming. Repeatedly press the [#] key until you return to the home screen. Any programming changes that were made will be automatically saved. You can then re-access the 11th System Options Menu at any time to turn the internal siren for the DSC Impassa back on.
