Do I Need A Receiver For A Vista If I Have A 6160RF?

No. The Honeywell 6160RF is an alpha numeric keypad that has a built in unlimited RF wireless receiver and transmitter. The Honeywell 6160RF keypad will support the number of wireless zones in the control panel offers. Only one wireless receiver can be used at a time when connected to a Honeywell hardwired Vista alarm panel. If two are installed, the wireless receiver will need to be disabled in one of them.

The 6160RF can take the place of installing a standard keypad like the 6160 or 6150 plus a 5881ENH wireless receiver and a 5800TM transmitter module separately.

The 6160RF keypad also has a built in bi-directional transmitter which allows statues to be sent to be sent to bi-directional wireless devices using the House ID in the panel or the keypad. If the control panel has partitions, the 6160RF keypad will only provide the status of the partition the keypad is assigned to.

The 6160RF keypad has an RF receiving transmitter range of 200 feet.

The 6160RF keypad is an addressable keypad and has a two line display in English and will show all descriptors programmed in the panel. The two line display allows users to access zone programming by keying star (*) 56. Zones will be displayed on the keypad allowing them to be properly programmed. Users can use custom alpha descriptors.

The 6160RF keypad does not have the feature of voice, but the internal sounder has a tone generator integrated circuit. This differentiates the burglary, audible panic alarm signal sound from the fire alarm signal sound. The burg / panic alarm sound is a continuous tone while the fire alarm sound is a loud pulsing tone.

The 6160RF keypad is compatible with Honeywell 5800 series devices.
