Honeywell 5811 vs 5800MICRA

Honeywell’s 5811 is a wireless door / window transmitter compatible with alarm systems that support 5800 series wireless devices. The 5811 is a very popular transmitter because it is super sleek and thin at only 1/4" and is available in both white and brown. The 5811 is ideal for installations where cosmetics are important such as doors, casements and double-hung windows. The 5811 transmitter’s full dimensions are 2-⅛ inch x 1-3/16” x ¼” . The 5811 transmitter has a built in reed switch which provides single zone protection. Loop 1 = is a normally closed built-in reed switch. The 5811 is supervised for check-in signals and will send a check in signal every 70 to 90 minutes. The transmitter will send a tamper signal to the control when the cover is removed, it will send loop 4.The 5811 transmitter will send a low battery signal when the battery voltage reaches 2.3V. It stops functioning at 2.0V. When the transmitter detects a low battery, it will send a low battery signal the next time it is sends any other signal. If the zone is programmed as input type 4, unsupervised, the panel will still see the low battery signal if it is sent with the check in signal. The 5811 transmitter does not have a repeating transmission feature. The 5811 has operating temperatures that range from 32F - 120F , and up to 95% non-condensing humidity. The 5811 is not weatherproof. The transmitting range of the 5811 is 150 feet. A 5800RP wireless repeater can be used if needed.

Honeywell’s 5800MICRA is a wireless mini recessed transmitter. The 5800MICRA is the smallest of Honeywell’s wireless recessed transmitters with dimensions of ¾” diameter and ⅓” long. The 5800MICRA is ideal when a user wants to conceal the transmitter on doors, and double hung windows. The 5800MICRA is a single zone transmitter, Loop 1 reed switch which is normally closed. The 5800MICRA has a 7 digit serial number that must be programmed into the control panel. The 5800MICRA is supervised for check in signals and low battery supervision. The 5800MICRA transmitter will send a check in signal every 70 to 90 minutes. The 5800MICRA will send a low battery signal when the battery voltage reaches 2.3V. It stops functioning at 2.0V. When the transmitter detects a low battery, it will send the low battery signal the next time it is sends any other signal. The 5800MICRA does not have a repeating transmission feature. The 5800MICRA has operating temperatures that range from 10°F to 120°F and up to 95% non-condensing humidity. The 5800MICRA is not weatherproof. Typically there is a nominal transmitting range of 100 feet indoors. Transmitting range will be greatly reduced if antenna is coiled or gathered. You can add a 5800RP wireless repeater if needed.

In conclusion - The 5800MICRA and the 5811 basically function the same with the 5800MICRA being a recessed transmitter and the 5811 being visible
