Honeywell 5814 vs 5815

The Honeywell 5814 is an ultra small surface mount door/window transmitter with dimensions of 1 ½” H x 1 3/16” W x ⅝” D. The Honeywell 5814 is extremely compact yet still is powerful with an RF operating range of 100 feet. The 5814 has a Loop 1, normally closed built in reed switch. The 5814 will send a loop 4 tamper signal to the control panel when the cover is removed or not placed correctly. The 5814 is a supervised transmitter and will send a check in signal as input type 3RF every 70-90 minutes. The 5814 has low battery detection and will send a low battery signal the next time it sends in any signal. Even if the zone is programmed as input type 4, unsupervised, the panel will still see the low battery signal if it is sent with the check-in signal. The 5814 transmitter has an operating temperature of 32 - 120 degrees F and runs on one 3V coin battery which usually will last anywhere from 3-5 years. The 5814 transmitter is easy to install and program and is perfect for casement windows or where small size is important.

The Honeywell 5815 is also a small (not quite as small as the Honeywell 5814) surface mount door/window transmitter with dimensions of 3” H x 1 ½”W x ⅞”D. The 5815 transmitter has an RF operating range of 200 feet, double of what the 5814 transmitter provides. The 5815 has 2 Loops, loop 1 is wired terminals and loop 2 has 2 built in reed switches which are in parallel, one is located on one end and the other is located on the side- only 1 can be used. the 5815 will send in a tamper signal to the control panel when the cover is opened, it will send loop 4. The 5815 is a supervised transmitter and will send a check signal every 70-90 minutes as input type 3 RF. The 5815 also has a low battery detection which will send a signal the next time it sends in any other signal. If the zone is programmed as input type 4, unsupervised, the panel will still see the low battery signal if it is sent with the check-in signal. The 5815 also operates in temperatures ranging from 32 - 120 degrees F and runs on one 3V lithium battery with a battery life of 3-5 years. The Honeywell 5815 transmitter is UL listed for both burg and fire and is CSFM Listed. the 5815 transmitter is sleek and is great for small applications, very easy to install and program.
