Honeywell iGSMV4G vs 7847i
The HoneywelliGSMV4G is a dual communicator that combines both an internet communicator and a GSM cell communicator.
The iGSMV4G supports the Honeywell Vista series control panels.
The first path of communication on the iGSMV4G is the internet. The iGSMV4G communicates via a network connection to the AlarmNet and routes the information to the central station of choice. If for some reason the network / internet goes down, the GSM cellular portion of the communicator will kick in and send the signals. If for some reason both services are unavailable, the communicator provides a third way to communicate by sending a transmission via SMS (Short Message Service) also known as a text message.
Installing an iGSMV4G provides most Vista panels with the ability to connect to Total Connect 2.0.
Users can also access programming via the web or using a 7720P programming tool. The iGSMV4G supports dynamic or static IP addressing, and installs behind firewalls without compromising network security. The iGSMV4G allows uploading and downloading of control panel data over the internet.
The iGSMV4G has it own battery backup so it does not have to rely on the control panels power supply.
The Honeywell 7847i is an internet communicator that supports both the Honeywell Vista series control panels and the Lynx Plus control panel.
The 7847i communicates via a network connection to the AlarmNet and routes the information to the central station of choice.
The 7847i connects using Cat 5 10 base T connection to a hub or router and installs behind firewalls without compromising the network’s security.
The 7847i supports dynamic or static IP addressing.The 7847i programs easily using a 7720P programming tool or AlarmNet Direct website.
the 7847i allows uploading and downloading of control panel data over the Internet.
