Honeywell L3000 vs Vista 20P

Honeywell’s Lynx Plus L3000 is a self contained, easy to install and program alarm control panel, 16 button keypad, and built in 85db siren. The L3000 has 1 on board hardwire zone and supports up to 40 wireless zones. The L3000 supports up to 8 user codes and logs 84 events. The L3000 is wireless which makes it easy to install anywhere, especially when there is no attic space and a user would not like to see unsightly wires or for renters where it can be easily removed and taken with. The L3000 provides IP communication by installing a 7847i communicator or cell communication by installing a GSMVLP4G cell communicator. A standard phone landline can also be connected to the L3000 for communication.

The Vista 20P is a hardwired control panel that requires a separate keypad and siren. The Vista 20P provides a total of 48 zones of protection. The Vista 20P has 8 on board hardwired zones (15 if the zone doubling feature is used) , 40 hardwired expansion zones (Honeywell relay is required) or 40 wireless expansion zones (a 5800 series wireless receiver or RF keypad is required). Wireless keyfobs can be programmed without using any protection zones. Some compatible keypads are the 6150RF, 6152RF, 6160RF, 6162RF, 6150, 6150V, 6160, 6160V, 6162, 6162V, Tuxedo Touch Wifi and VAM. The Vista 20P supports up to 8 keypads, alpha and fixed keypads combined and up to 4 graphic keypads. Unlike the L3000, the Vista 20P can have 2 independent partitions and 48 user codes assigned to any partition. The Vista 20P will log 100 events with time and date stamp. The Vista 20P can also be connected to a standard phone landline. A 7847i internet communicator can be installed for IP communication as well as a GSMV4G, GSMX4G cell communicators for cell communication. An iGSMV4G dual communicator can be installed for both cell and internet communication.


Both the L3000 and the Vista 20P are compatible with Total Connect 2.0. Total Connect 2.0 allows users to control alarm systems, home automation and video surveillance from any computer, smartphone or ios device. User will also receive notifications via email and or text messages on any alarm event.
