How Do I Change the Volume of an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5?
You can change the volume of an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5 by accessing the main settings menu. You will then use the up and down arrows to scroll between different menu options. Once you locate the volume options, you can adjust the volume. Click "close" to exit and save your changes.
Complete the following steps to change the volume of an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5:
1. Access the settings menu. The settings menu is easily accessible from the main screen. Simply press the gear icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen. This will take you into the settings menu.
2. Find the volume options. Use the up and down arrows on the right side of the touch screen to scroll between different menu options. The volume options are labeled "Voice Volume" and "Beep Volume". Stop once these two options are displayed on the screen.
3. Adjust the volume. Both "Voice Volume" and "Beep Volume" can be set to their own respective levels. "Voice Volume" refers to how loud any spoken voice announcements will be. This includes whenever the panel announces a specific wireless sensor. You can also set the Voice Volume to 0 bars to mute the system voice.
"Beep Volume" refers to how loud any chimes and system beeps for button presses will be. Pressing the left arrow for one of these options will decrease its volume. Pressing the right arrow for one of the options will increase its volume. You can set the Beep Volume from 1 to 4 bars. However, you cannot set the Beep Volume to 0 bars to mute the option entirely. Make sure both options are set to the desired levels before continuing.
4. Exit the menu. Click on the "Close" button in the upper-right corner of the screen to exit the menu. Any changes that were made will be saved automatically. If you ever need to readjust the volume for the system, you can simply reenter the settings menu and adjust the volume as needed.
