How Do I Connect a CO100-345 Carbon Monoxide Alarm to GC Touch?

To connect a CO100-345 carbon monoxide alarm to the GC Touch, go to Settings, enter the Installer Code, and touch Sensor Settings, then select an empty zone and touch Quick Add or Manual Add. Once the panel finds the sensor, assign a name and touch Save to finish enrolling the zone.

What the CO100-345 Does

The 2GIG GC Touch (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE versions) supports the CO100-345, a wireless carbon monoxide alarm that monitors indoor air for dangerous CO buildup and alerts the panel the moment it detects it. It communicates with the panel on the 345MHz frequency and enrolls as its own zone in Sensor Settings, a menu limited to Installer Users.

Because it isn't an eSeries encrypted model, the CO100-345 is configured with Sensor Class set to Unencrypted Sensor during setup. Its Group type should be set to 24-Hour Carbon Monoxide, which keeps the zone continuously active day and night, in every arming mode, and unable to be bypassed, so a CO alarm always triggers the panel's local sounder regardless of whether the system is armed or disarmed.

How to Connect the CO100-345 Carbon Monoxide Alarm

  1. Disarm the system. The GC Touch blocks entry to Settings while armed, so confirm the home screen shows a Disarmed status before continuing.
  2. Tap Settings. The gear icon sits in the top-right corner of the home screen and opens the main settings menu.

  1. Enter the Installer Code. Type 1561, the default Installer Code, to unlock the full Installer Settings menu, including Sensor Settings.
  2. Tap Sensor Settings. This option appears among the Installer Settings icons and opens a two-panel screen listing all 128 zones on the left.

  1. Select an empty zone. Zones without an enrolled device are labeled (Empty). Tapping one displays the Manual Add and Quick Add options on the right panel.

  1. Touch Quick Add or Manual Add. With Quick Add, trigger the CO100-345's test button to send a signal; the panel scans and lists the detected TXID for selection. With Manual Add, choose General Device as the Device Type, select Unencrypted Sensor as the Sensor Class, then tap Learn or type the TXID directly, followed by the CO100-345 SKU or Device ID.

  1. Set the Group to 24-Hour Carbon Monoxide, name the zone, and touch Save. This Group setting keeps the sensor continuously monitored in every mode, and tapping Save enrolls the CO100-345 into the selected zone.

Managing the CO100-345 After It's Added

A CO100-345 that's already enrolled can be edited, renamed, or reassigned to a different Group type from the same Sensor Settings menu it was added through, without needing to remove and re-add the whole zone. If the alarm is being replaced, such as when it reaches the end of its sensor life, tapping Reset while the zone is selected removes it from that zone so a new device can be learned in its place.

If the CO100-345 Isn't Being Detected

If Quick Add doesn't find the sensor, confirm the battery is installed and use the sensor's test button again within range of the panel, since the panel only lists a TXID once it hears a signal. Try moving the sensor closer to the panel or repositioning it away from metal surfaces and large appliances, which can weaken the 345MHz signal before it reaches the panel. If Manual Add is used instead, double check that the TXID was typed correctly, since even one incorrect digit will prevent the zone from ever triggering. Once enrolled, confirm the Group is set to 24-Hour Carbon Monoxide so the zone can never be bypassed or left unmonitored.
