How Do I Install A 6160RF?

Select a location to mount the Honeywell 6160RF keypad at least 10 feet away from the control panel. Mounting the keypad at least 10 feet away from the control panel will ensure the proper operation of the RF receiver. Remove the back case of the 6160RF keypad by using a flathead screwdriver pushing in the release snaps at the bottom of the keypad. Now insert the screwdriver into the side of the case and twist to release the side locking tab. Do the same on the other side. Pass the wires from the control panel through the back opening in the case. The breakouts can be punched out using the screwdriver. Mount the back case to the wall using the screws provided. Connect the green wire to the “Data In” on the control panel to the “G Data Out” on the 6160RF keypad. Connect the black wire to the “-Aux Pwr (GND)” on the control panel to the “- (neg sign)” on the keypad. Connect the red wire to the “+Aux Pwr” on the control panel to the “+ (positive sign)” on the keypad. Connect the yellow wire to the “Data Out” on the control panel to the “Y Data In” on the keypad. Reattach the keypad to the mounted back case by attaching the top first, then press the bottom in until it snaps securely.

The Honeywell 6160RF keypad is 3 separate units incorporated into one; the 6160 alphanumeric keypad, plus a 5881ENH wireless receiver and a 5800TM transmitter module. Installing a 6160RF keypad to a vista control panel will support as many wireless zones the control panel provides.

The 6160RF has a receiving RF range of 200 feet, however some 5800 devices have a shorter range so always check the devices transmitting range.
