How Do I Set Dip Switches on a 5883H Wireless Receiver?

The Honeywell 5883H Wireless Transceiver needs to be programmed with one device address for its wireless receiver (addresses 1-7) and one for its wireless transmitter (addresses 27-30). The device addresses that are selected will need to be programmed using the Honeywell alarm system.

When setting the dip switches, an "up" position will set a switch to on, while a "down" position will set a switch to off. There are seven dip switches on a 5883H, and they will be set based largely based upon the transmitter address and the receiver address. To set the dip switches, simply place each switch in the appropriate position.

If you are not using bi-directional devices, which require a transmitter module, do not program the transmitter's device address into the control panel. Also, make sure that dip switch 6 is set to off (down position) if you are not using any of these devices.

Follow the chart below to set the dip switches with the Honeywell 5883H wireless transceiver:

Switch
Function
1 Check/deactivate high-security keys
Device Address Settings
Transmitter Address: 0 28 29 30 27 28 29 30
Receiver Address: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
2 OFF OFF OFF OFF ON ON ON ON
3 OFF OFF ON ON OFF OFF ON ON
4 OFF ON OFF ON OFF ON OFF ON
5 Reserved - must be OFF
6 ON = enable transmitter (if using 5800TM compatible devices)
Note: If using more than one 5883H in a system, enable the transmitter in only one 5883H.
OFF = disable transmitter
7 Not used; leave in OFF position
8 Used when removing RF keypads; otherwise leave OFF

*Note: An address of 0 will set the transmitter or receiver to a non-address.

The DIPs on the 5883H are actually to define the wireless receiver and wireless transmitter addresses and should not be set to match your panel's House ID code. You can read about setting the DIPs online at https://www.alarmgrid.com/faq/how-do-i-set-dip-switches-on-a-honeywell-5883-wireless-receiver. If you can email support@alarmgrid.com and reference this page and provide us with the WA number from your VISTA panel's PROM chip (in the center of the green circuit board that lives in the beige metal cabinet), we'd be able to provide more specifics.
If I need to set the dip switches on a 5883h to 10 to match my house code, does anyone know how to do that?
You'll need to set the dip switches on the 5883H so that the receiver address matches the House ID you have programmed. To match House ID 6, you'll need dip switches 2 and 3 on and dip switch 4 off.
Honeywell vista 20p.. I installed the 5883h and gave my house id a 06, set dip switch number 6 to on.... all wireless sensors work but cant get the 5800wave siren to work but got the tamper switch working... Im assuming its because I have to program transmitter's device address. But where or how is that done? Read the programming instructions from front to back … must be missing something
