Will an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5 Work w/ Google Home?

Yes, an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5 will work with Google Home. The pairing process is completed by first enabling the Alarm.com Action on the Google Home device. Next, the Google Home App is accessed, and the user must share their Alarm.com account information with Google Home.

After the Simon XTi or XTi-5 System has been paired with Google Home, the system can be operated using various voice commands. For example, a user can ask their Google Home device to arm the system, check the current status of the system, control Z-Wave home automation devices and more.

It is important to remember that it is not possible to perform a system disarm using a voice command. This must still be done by either manually entering in a valid system user code, or by disarming from the Alarm.com interactive service.

And remember, it is only possible to pair a Google Home device with a Simon XTi or XTi-5 if the system is connected with Alarm.com. The system will need to receive active cellular monitoring service to pair with Alarm.com.

Complete the following steps to pair an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5 with Google Home:

1. Enable the Alarm.com action. Make the following voice command to the Google Home device, "Okay Google, talk to Alarm.com." This will let the Google Home service know that an Alarm.com account is being paired.

2. Access the app. Use your iOS or Android device, and open the Google Home App. If you do not have the app, it can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

3. Link the account. If the Google Home device used in Step 1 is properly paired with the Google Home App, a message should appear prompting to link an Alarm.com account. The email address associated with the desired Alarm.com account and the account password will both need to be entered. Once this information is provided, the Alarm.com account should begin to sync with the Google Home App and the Google Home device.

4. Test the device. Use the Google Home device to control the Simon XTi or XTi-5 System using voice commands. For example, saying, "Okay Google, ask Alarm.com to arm* the security system." If the system is armed successfully, then the account was linked.

*At this time, only Stay arming is supported through the Google Home Assistant. Arming Away using voice command is not supported.
