Description
The Honeywell 5809FXT is a fixed temperature (135F degrees) wireless heat detector. Honeywell discontinued the 5809 and replaced it with the 5809SS and the 5809FXT. The more popular 5809SS offers rate-of-rise heat detection in tandem with the fixed temp threshold of 135F degrees. The rate of rise heat detection technology is triggered when the ambient temperature raises 15 degrees in less than a minute. Since the 5809SS is equipped with both technologies it has replaced the 5809FXT. The 5809FXT and 5809SS will interface with any alarm system that accepts Honeywell's 5800 series wireless technology. It has become an industry standard due to the wide array of sensor types and range of various panels that support them.
