Can I Turn Off the Siren for an Interlogix Simon XT?
Yes, you can turn off the siren for an Interlogix Simon XT. The option for configuring the siren is found within System Programming. To access System Programming, you will need to know the Master Code for the system. From this menu, you must turn off the option called "Panel Piezo Alarm".
Please be aware that the option "Panel Piezo Alarm" is not the same as "Panel Piezo Beeps". The "Beeps" setting is for non-alarm system sounds, such as any status indication sounds. If you want to turn off the siren, you must turn off the option for "Panel Piezo Alarm".
Complete the following steps to turn off the siren for an Interlogix Simon XT:
1. Access siren options. With the Simon XT System on the main screen, use the up and down arrows to toggle between different selections. When you reach the option called "System Programming", press the "OK" button. You will then need to provide the Master Code for the system. By default, the Master Code for a Simon XT is 1234. After you have correctly entered the Master Code, press the "OK" button to confirm. If the Master Code was entered correctly, you will enter the System Programming Menu. From there, use the up and down arrows to toggle between different menu options. When you locate "Siren Options", press the "OK" button. You will then enter the Siren Options Menu.
2. Turn off the siren. From the Siren Options Menu, use the up and down arrows to toggle between menu options. When you locate "Panel Piezo Alarm", press the "OK" button. The "On" or "Off" selection should begin flashing. This will indicate that the option can be changed. Press the up or down arrow to set the option to "Off". With "Off" being displayed, press the "OK" button. This will confirm the selection. The "Off" option will be solid, indicating that the selection has been set.
3. Exit programming. To exit programming, repeatedly press the "Status" button on the panel until you have successfully returned to the home screen. Any programming changes that were made within System Programming will be saved automatically.
