Do I Have to Subscribe to Monitoring to Use Total Connect 2.0?

Yes, you have to subscribe to monitoring to use Total Connect 2.0. The TC2 platform is a subscription-based service that can only be used by people who have been granted access by an alarm monitoring company. If you want access to TC2, you can choose from many plans from Alarm Grid.

Total Connect 2.0 is an interactive service platform that is used exclusively with Resideo Security Systems and Total Connect 2.0 IP Cameras. The service allows users to arm and disarm their systems, check current system status, control Z-Wave smart home devices, view the live feed for TC2 IP Cameras, and more. The service can be accessed from a web browser or remotely using the Total Connect 2.0 Mobile App. The mobile app is particularly useful, as it basically allows an end user to control their alarm system from virtually anywhere in the world.

If you want to access the Total Connect 2.0 platform, you need a monitoring plan that includes access to the service. This monitoring plan covers the costs for maintaining the AlarmNet360 Servers that host the Total Connect 2.0 platform. Alarm Grid customers can choose from a variety of different monitoring plans that include access to TC2. In fact, all of our plans, with the exception of the Standard Bronze Plan and the Cellular-Only Plan include access to Total Connect 2.0, at least in some form. Keep in mind that what you can actually do from Total Connect 2.0 will depend on which monitoring plan you have. In addition to a compatible monitoring plan, you will also need a Resideo Security System with an AlarmNet Communicator and/or at least one TC2 IP Camera to access Total Connect 2.0. The reason for this is because without one of the aforementioned items, you would have absolutely no use for Total Connect 2.0. You only need TC2 if you have something to control or observe with the service. After you activate a compatible plan from Alarm Grid, you will receive an email with instructions for creating a TC2 account. You will then use your account to access the TC2 service from a web browser or the free TC2 Mobile App on Android and iOS devices. Your TC2 account will only work as long as you maintain active service with an alarm monitoring company like Alarm Grid.
