Do I need to buy a sim card for my GSMX4g or GSMV4G?

The GSMX4G and GSMV4G cellular communicators come with a SIM card pre-installed. You do not need to purchase a SIM card for any of the Honeywell GSM capable communicators.

The SIM card, however, does need to be activated by a Honeywell partner, such as Alarm Grid. The SIM card gets activated by the AlarmNet dealer after you sign up for monitoring service. While a consumer can switch from one company to another, the company that activates the SIM card the first time must release the SIM card before another AlarmNet dealer can re-activate.
