Honeywell Vista 15P vs Honeywell Lynx Touch L7000

The Honeywell Vista 15P is a hardwired control panel which requires a separate keypad and siren. The Honeywell Lynx Touch L7000 is a wireless control panel which is a self contained panel which includes the panel, keypad, siren and a wireless receiver.

The Vista 15P has 6 on board hardwired zones and when paired with either a 4229 or 4219 hardwired expansion module can support up to 16 additional hardwired expansion zones totalling 22. The Vista 15P can also support up to 26 wireless expansion zones when using a wireless receiver or an RF keypad and has 8 independent keyfob zones.

Honeywell’s Lynx Touch L7000 has 1 hardwired zone and 80 programmable wireless zones on board and 24 dedicated keyfob zones.

Home Automation - the Vista 15P can integrate zwave devices by installing a VAM or Tuxedo Touch Wifi Controller (keypad). Reminder, both the Tuxedo Touch Wifi and VAM are not communicators and either an internet or cell communicator is required. The Lynx Touch L7000 integrates zwave devices by installing a L5100zwave module. A user can control an alarm system and home automation such as thermostats, lights, door locks, water valves and shades remotely from any computer, smartphone or ios device when connected with Total Connect 2.0. Plus a user will also receive notifications via email and or text messages on any alarm event.

Touchscreen - The Vista 15P can support up to 2 graphic touchscreen keypads. The Lynx Touch L7000 comes equipped with a 7” graphic touchscreen.

Both the Vista 15P and Lynx Touch L7000 can communicate by internet, wifi and a cell communicator. The Vista 15P can be connected to a land line where the Lynx Touch L7000 cannot. The Vista 15P compatible cell communicators are GMSV4G or the GSMX4G. The Lynx Touch L7000’s cell communicator is the Honeywell 4GL which snaps right inside the panel. All cell communicators come with a sim card which need to be activated by a Honeywell dealer. The Vista 15P compatible internet communicator is the 7847i which requires a user to run an ethernet cable from the communicator to the users router. Lynx Touch internet communicators are the ILP5 which requires connecting an ethernet cable from the communicator to the users router. The L5100Wifi module which snaps directly inside the panel.

Dual Communication - you can have dual communication on both systems using a cell communicator and connecting to the internet or by wifi.

Both the Vista 15P and the Lynx Touch L7000 can support video surveillance cameras.
