How Do I Add a DWR100-345 Recessed Door Contact to GC Touch?

To add a DWR100-345 recessed door contact to the GC Touch, go to Settings, enter the Installer Code, and touch Sensor Settings, then select an empty zone and touch Quick Add or Manual Add. Once the panel finds the sensor, assign a name and touch Save to finish enrolling the zone.

This keeps the contact hidden from view, which is a common choice for finished doors, cabinets, or gun safes where a surface-mount contact would stand out. It communicates with the panel on the 345MHz frequency and enrolls as its own zone in Sensor Settings, a menu limited to Installer Users.

Because it isn't an eSeries encrypted model, the DWR100-345 is configured with Sensor Class set to Unencrypted Sensor during setup. Once enrolled, it can be assigned to any of the panel's 128 zones and given a Group type, such as Entry/Exit or Perimeter, that controls how it behaves when the system is armed Away or Stay.

How to Add the DWR100-345 Recessed Door Contact

1. Disarm the system. The GC Touch blocks entry to Settings while armed, so confirm the home screen shows a Disarmed status before continuing.
2. Tap Settings. The gear icon sits in the top-right corner of the home screen and opens the main settings menu.

1. Name the zone, choose a Group type, and touch Save. Selecting Entry/Exit or Perimeter tells the panel how to respond when the door opens, and tapping Save enrolls the DWR100-345 into the selected zone.

Managing the DWR100-345 After It's Added

A DWR100-345 that's already enrolled can be edited, renamed, or reassigned to a different Group type from the same Sensor Settings menu it was added through, without needing to remove and re-add the whole zone. If the door or frame is repaired or replaced, tapping Reset while the zone is selected removes the sensor from that zone so a new device can be learned in its place once reinstalled.

If the DWR100-345 Isn't Being Detected

If Quick Add doesn't find the sensor, confirm the battery is installed and separate the sensor and magnet by a few inches to trigger a signal, since the panel only lists a TXID once it hears one. Because the sensor and magnet are recessed inside drilled holes, double check that the holes are drilled to the correct depth and diameter and that the magnet lines up directly across from the sensor when the door is closed, since misalignment or too wide a gap can prevent the contact from reading correctly even with fresh batteries. If Manual Add is used instead, double check that the TXID was typed correctly, since even one incorrect digit will prevent the zone from ever triggering.
