How Do I Add Wireless Sensors to a Qolsys IQ Panel 2?
You can add wireless sensors to a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 by putting the system into its learn mode and then activating the wireless sensor. After learning in the device, you can then adjust its settings and configurations. You must know the Installer or Dealer Code to enroll new sensors.
Complete the following steps to add a wireless sensor to a Qolsys IQ Panel 2:
1. Access learn mode. From the home screen of the IQ Panel 2, press the small grey bar at the top of the screen. Then choose Settings, followed by Advanced Settings. You must then provide the Installer Code or the Dealer Code for the system. These default codes are 1111 and 2222, respectively. After entering in the code, choose Installation, followed by Devices, then Security Sensors, then Auto Learn Sensor. This will put the system into its learn mode for adding new sensors.
2. Enroll the device. With the system in its learn mode, activate the sensor to learn it in. This can be done by triggering the sensor or by removing its cover to fault the tamper. The sensor must be powered on when doing this. The panel will chime and display a message "Sensor ###### is requesting to be added to your list. Do you want to continue?" To add the sensor, press "OK".
3. Adjust the settings. At this point, you will need to adjust the settings for the sensor. These include Sensor DL ID, Sensor Type, Sensor Group, Sensor Name, Chime Type, Voice Prompts on or off, and Source. Some of this information, such as Source and Sensor DL ID, will be filled in automatically as part of the learn process. Go through the list and adjust the settings as needed. Click "Add New" at the bottom when finished. A message "Sensor Added Successfully" will be spoken. This will complete the process of adding the sensor to the system.
4. Exit programming. Press the picture of the house at the bottom of the screen to return to the home screen and save your changes. The system will acknowledge whenever the sensor has been activated, and it will perform the programmed response for the device if appropriate.
