How Do I Disable Auto-Stay Arming on the Honeywell Lyric Alarm System?
You can disable Auto-Stay Arming on the Honeywell Lyric Alarm System by accessing the System Settings Menu from within Installer Programming. This will require providing the Installer Code for the system. After disabling the feature, you can save your changes and exit Programming.
Auto-Stay Arming is a protective feature that is used to prevent false alarms on a security system. The feature works by automatically reverting the system to Arm Stay mode if an entry/exit zone is not activated during the exit delay period when the system is set to Arm Away. The idea is that if an entry/exit sensor is not faulted, then logically, the user must still be inside the building, and they could potentially activate an interior sensor and cause a false alarm. If a user wants to activate Arm Away mode without disabling the feature, they should simply activate an entry/exit zone during the exit delay period. This can usually be done by opening and closing the main door.
If you want to disable the Auto-Stay Arming feature entirely on the Honeywell Lyric Controller, complete the following steps:
1. Access Programming. Start from the Lyric main screen. Choose Security > Tools > Installer Code (4112) > Program. You will enter Programming.
2. Disable the feature. Choose "System Settings" in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Then find the "Auto Stay Arming" field in the bottom-right corner of the System Settings Menu. Set it to "No". This will turn off Auto-Stay Arming.
3 Save your changes. Press "Save" in the bottom-right corner of the screen to save your changes. Then press the return arrow in the upper-right corner of the screen repeatedly until you return to the main menu.
4. Test the feature. Set your system to Arm Away mode, but don't activate any entry/exit zones. If your system successfully Arms Away without reverting to Arm Stay, then Auto-Stay Arming has been disabled. You can then disarm your system after conducting this test.
