How Do I Enable Camera Viewing On the 2GIG GC Touch Panel?
To enable camera viewing on the 2GIG GC Touch, tap the Camera icon on the bottom navigation bar of the panel's home screen. The Camera page displays live video feeds from compatible Alarm.com cameras that have been configured by you and the monitoring provider to stream directly to the panel.
Understanding Camera Requirements
The 2GIG GC Touch (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE versions) provides convenient on-screen access to your security cameras directly from the panel. This feature allows you to monitor your property without opening a separate app or logging into a website. Camera viewing requires an active Alarm.com account with video monitoring service and compatible cameras configured to stream to your panel. Alarm Grid customers will need a Platinum Plan (Self or Full). We also offer a stand-alone video plan for those who want video monitoring without an alarm panel.
Before camera feeds appear on your GC Touch panel, your security cameras must be enrolled with Alarm.com and configured for panel streaming. Alarm.com offers a variety of indoor and outdoor cameras that work with the video monitoring platform. Your monitoring provider or alarm company handles the initial camera enrollment and configuration through the Alarm.com dealer portal.
Requirements
- A service package that supports at least one video device.
- For non-doorbell cameras that support two-way audio, Audio for Non-doorbell Cameras must also be enabled on your account by your alarm dealer.
- The GC Touch and the camera must be connected to exactly the same network. This means if the camera uses WIFI to connect, it must be connected to exactly the same SSID and band (2.4 GHz or 5GHz) as the panel.
- A compatible camera with the latest available firmware.
- Necessary bandwidth. Each camera will require between 2 Mbps and 2.5 Mbps of upload speed minimum while uploading video. That is per camera. More bandwidth may be required for video doorbells and cameras that support two-way audio, but this is only while the camera is active.
- The "View at Panel" option needs to be enabled for each camera to be viewed. Enable this by logging into your Alarm.com app, tapping Video > Settings > Stream Video to Panel and checking the box next to each camera you want to view. The GC Touch allows you to view up to eight cameras.
Steps to View Cameras
- Locate the Camera icon. On the bottom navigation bar of the home screen, look for the camera icon. This icon appears between the Devices icon and the Events icon.
- Tap the Camera icon. The panel opens the Camera page, which displays thumbnail images of all enrolled cameras configured to stream to your panel.
- Select a camera feed. Tap any camera thumbnail to view a larger live feed. Active cameras show real-time video while cameras with connectivity issues display a status indicator.
- Return to home. Tap the Home icon in the bottom navigation bar to exit the Camera page and return to the main security screen.
Camera Page Features
The Camera page displays cameras in a grid layout showing zone numbers and camera names. Each camera tile shows a live thumbnail when the camera is online and connected. Cameras experiencing connection issues display placeholder icons indicating the camera is offline or cannot stream. The plus icon in the grid indicates space for additional cameras if your system supports more devices.
Troubleshooting Camera Display Issues
If cameras do not appear on your GC Touch panel, log into your Alarm.com account and try to view the camera there. If you can, then you know the camera has WIFI and the issue is between the GC Touch and the camera. If both devices indicate they are connected to WIFI, try rebooting your modem/router. Allow the modem and/or router to fully boot, then check the connection again.
If the issue still exists, try rebooting the GC Touch panel. To do so, tap Settings > Enter Installer Code (default is 1561) + Enter (↵) > Equipment Management > Restart > Submit. Contact your alarm monitoring provider if cameras remain unavailable after confirming service and connectivity.
Viewing cameras on the 2GIG GC Touch provides instant access to your property without additional devices. The panel must have an active Alarm.com video monitoring subscription for camera feeds to display. If you're an Alarm Grid customer and you need help with camera viewing on the GC Touch panel, contact the Alarm Grid support team at support@alarmgrid.com, Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM Eastern Time.
