How Do I Get Remote Access to an Interlogix Simon XT?

You can get remote access to an Interlogix Simon XT by using the Alarm.com Mobile App. In order to sync with Alarm.com, the Simon XT System will need to have active cellular connectivity. This requires a cellular communicator and an alarm monitoring plan that includes cellular service.

Alarm.com is an interactive service platform that is used with different types of alarm systems. An alarm system can sync with the Alarm.com server so that a user can access their system remotely. By using Alarm.com, a user can arm and disarm their system, check the status of sensors and control Z-Wave devices. Alarm.com also offers a mobile app that allows users to perform these actions from virtually anywhere.

However, an alarm system can only sync with the Alarm.com server using a cellular connection. By default, an Interlogix Simon XT System can only use POTS (plain old telephone service) connectivity. In order to use cellular connectivity, a cellular communicator will need to be added to the Simon XT System. We recommend using an LTE communicator in order to achieve the fastest and most reliable service.

The user must also obtain an alarm monitoring plan that includes cellular service. For Alarm Grid, this includes our Gold and Platinum level plans. The Alarm.com Mobile App is available for free download from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The app allows any Android or iOS device to conveniently access the Alarm.com server. Once the user has opened the app, they will login using their Alarm.com account. They will then have full access to their alarm system from their mobile device. Alarm.com is also where you will view any security cameras that may have been set up with your system, after signing up for Platinum service.
