How Do I Perform a Z-Wave Device Name Sync on a Tuxedo Touch WIFI?

You can perform a Z-Wave device name sync on a Tuxedo Touch WIFI by performing the "Tuxedo Sync" action from within the Systems menu on the secondary Tuxedo Touch WIFI. The primary Tuxedo Touch WIFI should be found, and the name sync can be performed. The device names should then match.

The process is completed using the Tuxedo Touch WIFI that serves as a secondary Z-Wave controller on a Z-Wave network where another Tuxedo Touch WIFI is the primary Z-Wave controller. The secondary Tuxedo Touch WIFI device must already be established as a secondary Z-Wave controller, and both Tuxedo Touch WIFI Keypads must be on the same WIFI network.

Complete the following steps to perform a Z-Wave device name sync on a Tuxedo Touch WIFI that is being used as a secondary Z-Wave controller:

1. Discover the primary Tuxedo. Start from the main screen of the Tuxedo Touch WIFI that is being used as the secondary Z-Wave controller. Select the Settings icon in the lower-left corner of the screen (the logo with the wrench and screwdriver). Then choose the "System" option that is found slightly to the right of the center of the screen. Then choose "Tuxedo Sync" option on the left side of the screen. Then choose "Discover Tuxedo" in the lower-left corner. The secondary Tuxedo Touch WIFI should begin looking for the primary Tuxedo Touch WIFI. Give it a few moments to find the device.

If the primary controller is not found automatically, the device can be added manually. To do this, press the "Add" button to the right of the "Discover Tuxedo" option. Then provide the IP Address and MAC of the primary Tuxedo. You can find the IP Address for the primary controller on the bottom-left of its main screen. Its MAC can be found by pressing the Settings icon (wrench and screwdriver), followed by the icon. Please note that the MAC must be entered in all capital letters. After entering in the IP Address and the MAC, press the Save icon (the floppy disk) in the lower-left to continue.

2. Initiate the sync. Click on the Tuxedo Touch WIFI that was found or manually added to highlight it. With the name highlighted, click the "Sync Z-Wave Device Name" button at the bottom of the screen. Choose "Yes" in the window that appears. The name sync will begin.

3. Confirm the sync. The system will confirm if the name sync went through successfully. Press the OK option to continue. Then press the picture of the house in the upper-left corner to return to the home screen. Choose "Automation", then "Z-Wave Setup". Check and make sure that all of the Z-Wave devices on the network have the same name as those on the primary controller.

You can then test the Z-Wave network status by choosing the Z-Wave Network Test button at the bottom of the screen. This is the button directly to the left of the light switch. Press the Scan button at the bottom of the screen. All of the devices on the Z-Wave network should have a status of "Success". Then press the picture of the house in the upper left corner to return to the home screen.
