How Do I Program Z-Wave Devices to a 2GIG GC Touch Panel?

To program Z-Wave devices to a 2GIG GC Touch, make sure the panel is disarmed, then tap Settings and enter the Installer Code (1561 by default). Select Automation Device, then tap Add Device, and trigger your Z-Wave device to include it in the network. The panel scans automatically.

The 2GIG GC Touch (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE versions) functions as a Z-Wave smart home gateway, allowing you to control lights, locks, thermostats, and other home automation devices directly from the panel touchscreen. Before adding a new Z-Wave device, it is recommended to first exclude it using the Remove Device option. Steps to Add a Z-Wave Device

1. Disarm the system. The panel must be in a disarmed state before you can access the Settings menu. If the system is armed, slide the arm/disarm slider to the Disarm position and enter your user code if prompted.
2. Tap Settings. The Settings icon appears as a gear in the top-right corner of the home screen. Tapping it opens a code entry screen.
3. Enter the Installer Code. The default Installer Code is 1561. Enter this code on the keypad and tap the enter button (↵), if necessary. The Settings menu will appear with options for managing your security system.
4. Tap Automation Device. This option appears in the Settings menu with a circular icon showing a house and smart home symbols. The Automation Device screen provides options for managing your Z-Wave network.

5. Tap Remove Device. The Automation Device screen shows three Z-Wave icons: Device List, Add Device, and Remove Device. To clear any leftover programming that may be in the Z-Wave device, usually due to QA testing at the factory, tap Remove Device. Trigger the new Z-Wave device based on the instructions provided with it. Exit the Remove Device screen by tapping the X in the upper right corner of the screen.
6. Tap Add Device. Tap the Add Device icon with the plus sign to begin the inclusion process.
7. Wait for the panel to enter Add Mode. The panel displays a message stating it is entering Add Mode, which typically takes less than 30 seconds. Once ready, the screen prompts you to trigger the Z-Wave device you want to add.
8. Trigger the Z-Wave device. Put your Z-Wave device into inclusion mode according to its instructions. This typically involves pressing a button on the device or following a specific sequence. Once the panel detects the device, it appears in a list on screen along with its Z-Wave security level.
9. Tap OK to confirm. After all desired devices have been detected and added to the list, tap OK to complete the inclusion process. The devices are now part of your Z-Wave network and can be controlled from the panel.

Tips for Successful Pairing

For best results, position the Z-Wave device close to the panel during initial pairing. After the device is successfully added, you can move it to its final location. If a device fails to pair, use the Remove Device option to clear its network data, then try adding it again. The panel supports both S0 and S2 Z-Wave security levels, which are displayed next to each device in the list.
