Is a Honeywell 5818MNL Compatible with Lyric Gateway?

Yes, the Lyric Gateway is compatible with Honeywell 5818MNL wireless sensors.

The Honeywell Lyric Gateway is the latest panel released in their all in one wireless line. The system has the option of being wall mounted or placed on a flat surface with its custom desk mount (included). The unit has a built in Ethernet or WIFI communicator and Z-Wave controller with the option to install an additional cellular communicator. The top of the Lyric Gateway opens up to reveal an expansion bay where an AT&T or Verizon cellular communicator can be installed. There is also an Ethernet jack for the unit to connect directly to a network, if needed. The Gateway can operate using only one of its communication methods or a combination of cellular and Ethernet / WIFI in a Dual Path setup. With this feature the system will automatically switch to an active communication path if the primary path fails. The Gateway also ships with its own integrated backup battery.

The Lyric Gateway is compatible with all devices within the SiX Sensor line. SiX sensors are Honeywell’s latest and greatest wireless sensor line. These sensors are bi-directional, fully encrypted with 128 bit AES encryption, have a 300 foot operating range and can be remotely programmed.

All of the devices within the 5800 wireless line are also compatible with the Lyric Gateway, except for devices that require a House ID to operate (the 5800 WAVE Wireless Siren and the 5828 Wireless Keypad are two notable examples). The 5800 wireless sensor line is not encrypted, has approximately a 200 foot operating range and, except for those devices that require a House ID, is not bi-directional. With this being said, the 5800 line has been available for some time now and has a wide variety of sensors for multiple different installation environments. The 5818MNL is a recessed contact that can be installed in a 3/4" hole. The majority of the sensor is hidden - only the front plate can be seen when looking directly at its installation location. Because the transmitter is usually mounted inside the door, these contacts are not suitable for mounting in metal doors, or metal clad doors. The 5818MNL is fully compatible with the Lyric Gateway.
