Which Cellular Communicator Works In A Vista 128BPT?

The Vista 128BPT control panel is compatible with several gsm cell communicators. The GSMV4G, GSMX4G, iGSMV4G and the iGSMHS4G.

Honeywell Cell Communicators transmit signals to the AlarmNet Control Center which in turn routes the signals to a monitoring central station. Honeywell’s 4G cell communicators have a IntelliPath feature which enables the communicator to be compatible with 2G, 3G and 4G cell towers.

The installation location of a cell communicator is usually next to the Vista 128BPT control panel. However, the cell communicator can be installed remotely for the best signal strength. Signal strength should be within 3-5 bars. The cell communicator must be mounted upright and not next to air handlers or metal. Basement installation is not recommended. If needed, an exterior antenna can be added to boost signal strength (please refer to the unit’s install manual for complete instructions).

The GSMV4G cell communicator has a battery backup which provides the cell communicator to remain powered if the main power is lost for whatever reason. One 6VDC, 3.1AH battery is included with the cell communicator. The battery should last 5 years under normal circumstances. The battery can provide over 24 hours of cell communicator life in the event of a power failure. The GSMV4G will send a low batterry signal when the battery reached 5.7V. The GSMV4G will stop communicating and no signals will be sent when the battery reached 5.1V.

The GSMX4G does not have a battery backup option. The GSMX4G is powered right from the Vista 128BPT control panel. In the event of a power lost the GSMX4G will rely on the Vista 128BPT control panel’s backup battery.

The iGSMV4G cell communicator has dual communication and transmits signals to the AlarmNet control center via the internet as the first path of communication followed by the gsm cellular network. The iGSMV4G also comes with a battery backup for continuous communication in the event of a power loss.

The iGSMHS4G is a high security dual path communicator and transmits signals to the AlarmNet control center via the internet as the first path of communication followed by the gsm cell network. The iGSMHS4G is UL listed and meets UL High Line Security requirements for ULAA applications and commercial applications. The iGSMV4G also comes with a battery backup.
