Description

The Honeywell LTEIV-TC2 is a dual-path communicator kit for Resideo VISTA Alarm Systems. This kit includes a Honeywell LTE-IV Dual-Path Communicator and the necessary PROM Chip upgrades for VISTA 15P Systems and for VISTA 20P Systems. This is perfect for a VISTA System pre-version 9.12.

In order to access Total Connect 2.0, a VISTA 15P or 20P System must have a compatible AlarmNet Communicator and be running firmware version 9.12 or higher. You can determine the current firmware version by checking the black PROM Chip on the panel's main board. If the number is lower than 9.12, you must replace the old PROM Chip with a new one. Please note that if the existing PROM Chip is less than 2.0, then you will need to replace the panel entirely. VISTA 15P and 20P systems running less than 2.0 cannot receive PROM Chip upgrades.

If your 15P or 20P System already has a high enough PROM chip, then you should purchase the standalone communicator linked above. Additionally, if you have a VISTA 21iP System, then it will need to be running at least PROM Chip 3.13 to support Total Connect 2.0. If you need to upgrade the PROM Chip for a VISTA 21iP System, please purchase this PROM Chip upgrade instead. You will also need to purchase the Honeywell LTE-IV individually. Any version of the 21iP can receive a PROM Chip upgrade.

This kit includes a PROM Chip upgrade that will allow a 15P or 20P System to work with Total Connect 2.0. Make sure to power down your system before attempting to replace the PROM Chip. This requires unplugging the system transformer and disconnecting its backup battery. We recommend using the metal end of a binder clip to gently pry the old PROM Chip off the board. You can then press the new PROM Chip carefully into its place.

However, the main component of this kit is the Honeywell LTE-IV AlarmNet Dual-Path Communicator. This will allow the system to communicate across IP and the Verizon LTE Network to connect with the AlarmNet Servers. In the event that one communication path goes down, the system will still be able to communicate across the other path. This will ensure that the system provides ultra-reliable and dependable monitoring service that you can count on every single time.

By accessing the AlarmNet360 Servers and Total Connect 2.0, you will be able to control your VISTA System remotely. This is done using the Total Connect 2.0 service. There is a Total Connect 2.0 Mobile App available for Android and iOS device. This app can be downloaded for free, and it offers fantastic functionality. Through the app, you can arm and disarm your system, check current system status, control Z-Wave devices (Z-Wave controller needed), view programmed security cameras and more. Please note that you will need an appropriate alarm monitoring plan to use Total Connect 2.0.

Note: An AT&T version called the LTEIA-TC2 is now available! You can buy it here.

Excellent Communicator Upgrade Kit!

The Honeywell LTEIV-TC2 is an upgrade kit that includes a Honeywell LTE-IV Verizon LTE & IP Dual-Path Communicator for VISTA Systems, as well as the latest PROM Chip upgrades for the Honeywell VISTA-15P and Honeywell VISTA-20P Security Systems. This is a great kit to get if you need to upgrade your VISTA System to LTE, and you also need a new PROM Chip for the system. The minimum PROM Chip version needed for a 15P or 20P System to support Total Connect 2.0 is 9.12, so any less than that usually warrants an upgrade. This is a great kit, and we wholeheartedly recommend it if you need both a new communicator and a PROM Chip upgrade. It gets 5 Stars.

There are many things that we like about the Honeywell LTE-IV and the LTEIV-TC2 Kit. The communicator is dual-path, so even if one communication path goes down, the panel will remain online and monitored. The Verizon LTE Network used with this communicator is expected to remain active and in-service, even as newer 5G networks are inevitably made available. This means that the LTE-IV will keep your system monitored for many years to come. The 15P and 20P PROM Chip upgrades are a nice bonus, as many users will need an upgrade to use TC2.

There are not many downsides for the Honeywell LTEIV-TC2. Since this is a dual-path communicator, you will need a cellular monitoring plan for full functionality. These are typically more expensive than IP-only monitoring plans. But the trade-off is that cellular communication is more reliable, so many users think that it is worth the extra money. Like any VISTA Communicator, the LTE-IV must be physically installed. This isn't super difficult, but it is still something to consider. Lastly, you only need this upgrade kit if your VISTA System is not running a high enough PROM Chip. These downsides are fairly minor, and they do not stop us from giving the LTEIV-TC2 a 5 Star rating.

Good: Dual-Path, Verizon LTE, PROM Chip Upgrades

Bad: Needs Cellular Monitoring for Full Functionality, Communicator Must be Installed, Only for Users Needing PROM Chip Upgrade

Bottom Line: 5 Stars

With this communicator, you can do Internet Only using our Self Bronze plan, which is $10 per month. This is Total Connect 2.0 basic service. You'll have the ability to connect to your panel remotely through the app, arm/disarm/bypass zones, and receive notifications vie text, email, or push notification on system events. The great thing about this communicator is that if you change your mind later, and want something more secure (cell backup) you can change your plan to one of those including cellular service (Self Gold, $25 per month). Since there are no contracts, you're free to switch at any time, or not.
Thank you, Julia. So we'd need to get your cell+wifi monthly service. Is that $10?
At this time, there is no WIFI option available (at least not that's manufactured by Honeywell/AlarmNet) that supports WIFI communication. There may be some third party options out there, but we don't support those.
Same Honeywell 4.2 system. Is there an upgrade that is WiFi only? I’m looking for WiFi and self monitoring, not a monitoring subscription after I upgrade. Replace chip with something compatible that uses WiFi, not cellular? Safewatch Pro 3000 button keypad.
Yes, as long as the 6280W allows you to go into Console Mode (where it emulates a 6160 keypad) you should be able to program using it. It may just be a little slow at times, in particular in the menu driven fields, such as *56 for zone programming.
It appears this is what I want if I have a WA3001-4.2 chip. Do you know if I can program it using a 6280w Touchscreen keypad? The other keypads are 6150's
