Can I Add Additional Services to My Alarm.com Account?

Yes, you can add additional services to your Alarm.com account. This is necessary for increasing the ways that you can use the Alarm.com platform. Some examples of services you might add to your Alarm.com account include Video Analytics and access to the Alarm.com Wellness Platform.

Alarm.com is an interactive security and automation platform that is used with many compatible security systems. The service can be used to arm/disarm your system, check its current status, control Z-Wave home automation devices, view Alarm.com IP Cameras, and more. You can perform all of these functions from the Alarm.com website or remotely through the mobile app for Android and iOS devices.

However, most of these functions and features are only available as service package add-ons for Alarm.com. Remember that the primary function of Alarm.com is to forward alarm events and system notifications to the central station and/or the end user. For everything else, you need a special add-on package applied to your Alarm.com account. Some of these service add-on packages include Video Analytics, Alarm.com Video Doorbell, Alarm.com Video Expansion Packs, and the ADC Wellness Platform.

If you want access to any of these service packages, then you will need to contact your alarm monitoring company. The procedure for adding these service packages can vary greatly between different monitoring companies. At Alarm Grid, we will generally apply Alarm.com service package add-ons upon request. Depending upon the add-on, we may do this at no additional charge, or we may increase your monthly fee. This is decided on a case by case basis, and it will really depend on what exact feature is being added.

In some cases, you may be required to upgrade to a higher level monitoring plan. The most common scenario is that an Alarm Grid customer needs to upgrade from a Gold Level Plan (Gold or Self-Gold) to a Platinum Level Plan (Platinum or Self-Platinum) to use Alarm.com IP Cameras.
