Can I Change the Volume of an Interlogix Simon XT?

You can change the volume of an Interlogix Simon XT by accessing the siren options menu of system programming. To access system programming, you will need the Master Code for the system. You can set separate volume levels between 1 and 8 for both the panel speaker and system beeps.

Complete the following steps to change the volume on an Interlogix Simon XT:

1. Access siren options. From the main screen of the Simon XT Panel, repeatedly press the down arrow until you reach "System Programming". Then press the "OK" button. Enter in the Master Code for the system (the default Master Code for a Simon XT is 1234). Press the "OK" button after you have entered the 4-digit code. Then repeatedly press the down arrow until you reach "Siren Options". Then press the "OK" button. You will be taken to the siren options menu.

2. Adjust speaker volume. The speaker volume determines how loud the spoken voice of the Simon XT Panel will be. To adjust the speaker volume, repeatedly press the down arrow in the sirens options menu until you reach "Speaker Volume". Then press the "OK" button. The number underneath "Speaker Volume" will begin flashing, indicating that it can be adjusted.

Next, use the up and down arrows to adjust the speaker volume level. The volume can be set to any number from 1 to 8. The higher the number, the louder the volume. Once you have set the volume to the desired number, press the "OK" button. The number underneath "Speaker Volume" will stop flashing, indicating that it has been set.

3. Adjust status beep volume. The status beep volume determines how loud the beeping of the panel is whenever you press buttons or arm the system. To adjust the status beep volume, repeatedly press the down arrow until you reach "Status Beep Vol". Then press the "OK" button. The number underneath "Status Beep Vol" will begin flashing, indicating that it can be adjusted.

Next, use the up and down arrows to adjust the status beep volume level. The volume can be set to any number from 1 to 7. The higher the number, the louder the volume. Once you have set the volume to the desired number, press the "OK" button. The number underneath "Status Beep Vol" will stop flashing, indicating that it has been set.

4. Exit programming. With both speaker volume and status beep volume set, repeatedly press the "Status" button until the Simon XT System says "Disarmed". This will indicate that you have exited programming and returned to the home screen. The new volume levels will now be in effect.
