Does The L5200 And L7000 Chime When A Door's Opened?

Yes, both the Honeywell Lynx Touch L5200 and L7000 have a chime mode feature and when turned on will provide an audible alert of the opening of a door or window while the alarm system is disarmed.

When the chime feature is activated, three beeps or a selected programmed chime will sound at the control panel whenever a protected perimeter door or window is opened and if programmed, the zone voice descriptor will be announced.

The chime mode can be changed only when the system is disarmed. Additionally, the faulted zone information will be displayed on the Security Screen. Selecting the "Zones" icon displays the open protection zones.

To activate the chime mode, make sure the system in the disarmed state and select the "Settings" icon found on the second page of the Security Screen.

Select the "Chime" icon found on the bottom right. The system toggles between off and on. When selected on, the button turns green and the chime mode will be active.

Press save to save the setting.

Press the return icon to return to the Settings screen.

With the panel still in the unarmed state, select the "Zones" icon

from Security Screen.

Press "Select All" and scroll through the options until "Select Chime" appears.

Select the zone from the displayed list and then select the "Chime" button to scroll through the available chimes. Each chime sounds when selected for preview.

Once all zones have been "chimed", press the save button to save the settings.

Enter the master code on the displayed keypad and the system will return to the security screen.

It sounds like there is something incorrect with sensor programming. We don't actually provide programming support to non-monitored customers. If you were to activate with us, we can pull your panel programming and help walk through any issue with the system. Here is a link to all our monitoring plans: https://www.alarmgrid.com/monitoring

I have my doors set to chime. I've turned chime on and turned the volume all the way to the right. I didn't hear anything through this process, not sure if I'm supposed to. I save it. Then I went to the program and zones. I selected the standard chime sound. I hit save. Then I went under security, zones, scrolled through until I got to select chime. At this point, I worked on the various zones - when I click a zone and scroll through the chimes on the bottom, I hear nothing, no preview. Also, there is no save button. I backed out. When I look at the zones again, they are set up to the chime setting I had entered though. It is green and shows ready to arm-chime, but I hear nothing when the door is open. When I open the door sensor cover, it shows a tamper message right away. When I open the door, it says the door is open, so I am sure there sensor is working. How can I get the sound for the chimes? Not sure what I've done wrong. I have only lived here a month, but I have heard it make sound before (don't remember what, I think when it had a 103 com. Error maybe, which is fixed). It is set for self monitoring, if that makes any difference. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/0e4d2df057c422fefd7752e9b4777773227328eeb2fb3cc93e8c3cdb874210f2.jpg
Hi Dan, No continuous chime option, however if you have a Total Connect account you'll be able to create a notification that will let you know if the gate has been left open.
Is it possible to have a door chime continuously if the door is left open? I have a 5210 and one 5816OD that I'm using on a gate. That's all the panel is used for. No central monitoring. I want the panel to chime continuously if the gate is open and stop chiming automatically when its closed.
The chime sound would only happen at the main LYNX Touch panel and at any wireless keypads (5828 or 5828V) that are connected to the system. The wireless sirens or Z-Wave sirens won't do the regular chiming.
Will 'chime' mode support z-wave or wifi speakers? I need my chime to ring in other parts of the house, not just the 7000 panel
