How Do I Access Local Automation on the IQ Panel 5?
To access Local Automation on the IQ Panel 5, go to Advanced Settings, enter the Dealer Code, and touch Local Automation. The page is only available with the Dealer Code and holds a preset vacant home scene for new construction. The Installer Code will not open it. It runs daily.
What Local Automation Is
The IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) has a Local Automation page that holds a hardcoded scene. It is designed for panels installed in new construction properties that do not yet have an Alarm.com account activated, but that need to manage Z-Wave devices locally in a vacant home mode.
Hardcoded means the scene is preset. It runs the same daily actions every time, and the panel handles them on its own without a cloud account.
Who Can Access It
The Local Automation page is only available through the Dealer Code. The manual lists the code entry as 1111 or 2222, but this page opens only with the Dealer Code, which is 2222 by default. If you sign in with the Installer Code, you will not see Local Automation in the menu.
How to Access Local Automation
1. Swipe down from the top of the screen. This opens the Settings Tray with quick controls.
2. Touch Settings. This opens the main Settings page.
3. Touch Advanced Settings. This prompts you to enter a code before continuing.

4. Enter the Dealer Code. The default Dealer Code is 2222. The Installer Code, 1111, does not open the Local Automation page.
5. Touch Local Automation. It is on the bottom row of the Dealer menu, next to IQ Installer.

What the Scene Does Each Day
The scene runs three actions every day. At night, at 8 pm, it automatically locks all of the locks. It sets all thermostats to Auto mode with a target temperature of 65 F to 78 F, or 18.3 C to 25.6 C. It also turns Light 1 on at 8 pm at night and turns all lights off in the morning at 6 am.
These actions keep a vacant home secure and comfortable. Doors stay locked, the thermostats keep the temperature in a safe range, and a light comes on in the evening so the house does not sit completely dark.
When It Applies
Local Automation is meant for a home that is still being built or has not yet been handed over, with a IQ Panel 5 installed and Z-Wave devices in place but no Alarm.com account yet. In that situation, the scene lets the panel look after the locks, thermostats, and lights by itself until the home is occupied.
How It Differs From Automation on the Settings Page
The Settings page also has an Automation button, which is a different feature. That page manages local lighting rules, such as a Night rule or a Front Door rule, and anyone with access to Settings can open it. Local Automation is the Dealer Code only vacant home scene described here, and it is a fixed set of daily actions.
What You Need
You need the Dealer Code, which is 2222 by default, and Z-Wave devices already enrolled on the panel. The scene acts on the devices that are enrolled, so locks, thermostats, and lights must be added before the daily actions have anything to control.
Devices the Scene Controls
The scene covers three kinds of Z-Wave devices. It locks all enrolled locks, sets all enrolled thermostats to Auto mode within the stated temperature range, and turns lights on and off. Only Light 1 turns on in the evening, while every light turns off in the morning.
If You Cannot Find Local Automation
If Local Automation is missing, you signed in with a code other than the Dealer Code. Return to Advanced Settings and enter the Dealer Code. The button appears in the Dealer menu alongside Installation, User Management, About, System Tests, and the other dealer options.
Accessing Local Automation on your IQ Panel 5 takes the Dealer Code and opens a preset vacant home scene for locks, thermostats, and lights on the IQ Panel 5.
