How Do I Add a Wireless Sensor to a Honeywell Lyric Security System?
You can add a wireless sensor to a Honeywell Lyric Security System by accessing zone programming for the system. This will require knowing the Installer Code for the Lyric Controller. From zone programming, you can auto-enroll the sensor and adjust any of its settings and configurations.
Complete the following steps to add a wireless sensor to a Honeywell Lyric Security System:
1. Access zone programming. From the home screen of the Lyric Controller, go to Security > Tools > enter the Installer Code (the default is 4112) > Program > Zones. This will take you to Zone Programming.
2. Choose a zone. Use the up and down arrows on the right side of the screen to scroll through the list of zones. Once you have found an available zone, click on it to highlight it. Then choose "Edit" in the lower-left corner of the screen to access the settings for that zone. Remember, Zones 1 and 2 are for hardwired sensors only, and they cannot be used with any wireless sensors.
3. Enroll the sensor. Within zone settings, click on the "Serial Number" field. This will put the Lyric Controller into learn mode. Fault and restore the sensor three times to learn it in with the panel. The serial number for the sensor should be displayed after the second restore. After the third restore, the panel will beep three times, and you will be taken back to the settings for that zone.
4. Configure sensor settings. During this time, you will adjust all of the settings for the sensor. This includes its Loop Number, Zone Description (name), Device Type, Response Type and other options. Make sure that everything is set correctly. If you aren't sure what any sensor setting field means, please consult pages 12-15 of the Lyric Programming Guide.
Once you have finished making your selections, press "Save" in the lower-right corner of the screen to save your changes. Then press the return arrow in the upper-right corner of the screen continuously until you return to the main screen.
