How Partition Access Works for User Codes

Some codes reach all four partitions at once, while others are limited to a single assigned area, and that distinction is set entirely through User Management rather than at the partition itself.

Partition access follows the user type. Dealer, Installer, and Master codes always have access to all partitions, since those tiers are meant for whoever manages the whole security system, not a single area. User and Guest codes are the ones that actually get restricted to specific partitions, and each of those codes is limited to arming and disarming, nothing more, within whichever partition or partitions it's been granted.

How to Assign a Code to a Partition

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and touch Settings. This opens the Settings Tray, then the main Settings page.

2. Touch Advanced Settings and enter the Master Code. The default Master Code is 1234, though your account admin may have changed it. Entering the Master Code here gives full access to the settings menu without needing to re-enter a code separately for User Management.

3. Touch User Management and select the code you want to edit. Any existing user code's information can be edited here except for its User Type, which is fixed once the code is created.

4. Check the box next to each partition you want that code to reach. Only the number of partitions actually configured on your system will appear as options here, so if you've set up two partitions, you'll only see two boxes to choose from.

5. Save your changes. The code now applies to whichever partitions you selected the next time it's entered at the panel or used to arm or disarm remotely.

Access Levels by User Type

The Dealer Code has access to all settings plus Master Reset and Dealer Contact information, across all partitions. The Installer Code reaches all Installer Settings, also across all partitions. The Master Code gets all user-related features, including Wi-Fi, User Management, Sound, and sensor customization, again across all partitions. User and Guest codes are limited to arming and disarming, and only within whichever partition or partitions they've specifically been assigned. A Duress code is also available, and each partition gets its own unique Duress code that disarms the system while silently alerting your monitoring provider.

The 6-Digit Code Detail Worth Knowing

If 6-Digit User Code is enabled on the panel but a code hasn't been manually updated to six digits, the system automatically appends "00" to the end of the existing 4-digit code. So a user code of 1234 effectively becomes 123400 once 6-digit mode is turned on, even though nothing about that user's partition assignment changes. This catches people off guard if 6-digit mode gets enabled after codes and partition assignments are already set up, since the partition access stays correct but the code itself needs the extra two digits to work at the keypad.

If a Code Isn't Reaching the Right Partition

If someone reports that their code isn't working in a partition they should have access to, go back into User Management and confirm the checkbox for that specific partition is actually checked, since it's easy to save changes to the wrong user or miss a box when multiple partitions are involved. If the partition checkboxes aren't appearing at all, confirm Partitions have been enabled under Dealer or Installer Settings first, since the entire partition access interface in User Management stays hidden until that's turned on at the system level.
