How Do I Connect an IQ Keypad PG to the IQ Panel 5 System?

To connect an IQ Keypad PG to the IQ Panel 5, swipe down, touch Settings, Advanced Settings, enter the Installer Code (1111 by default), go to Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, and touch Auto Learn. Hold the * button for three seconds, set Sensor Type to Keypad, and touch Add New.

What Is the IQ Keypad PG

The IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is compatible with the IQ Keypad PG (model IQKP-915), a PowerG wireless LCD keypad that provides a secondary arming and disarming point anywhere in your home without running any wires. It communicates over the same encrypted PowerG radio used by your security sensors — no daughter card or extra hardware required.

The IQ Keypad PG has a backlit numeric keypad for entering user codes, LED status indicators for Ready, Armed, Trouble, and AC Power, and a panic button. It is the standard keypad option. If you also need proximity tag disarming — where users can tap a key fob-style tag instead of entering a code — the IQ Keypad Prox-PG adds that capability. You can add up to 3 PowerG keypads to the security system.

Steps to Connect the IQ Keypad PG

1. Mount and power on the IQ Keypad PG. Install batteries or connect power per the manufacturer's instructions. Position the keypad within PowerG range of the IQ Panel 5.

2. Swipe down from the top of the screen and touch Settings. The Settings page opens.

3. Touch Advanced Settings and enter the Installer Code (1111 by default). The Advanced Settings menu opens.

4. Touch Installation, then Devices, then Security Sensors. The Security Sensors menu opens.

5. Touch Auto Learn Sensor. The panel enters listening mode and waits for a PowerG signal.

6. Press and hold the * button on the IQ Keypad PG for three seconds. The keypad sends a PowerG enrollment signal. The panel chimes and displays the keypad's DL ID with a confirmation popup.

7. Touch Add New to confirm the keypad. The sensor configuration screen appears.

8. Set the Sensor Type to Keypad, choose a Sensor Group and Name, then touch Add New. Groups 0, 1, and 2 are available for keypads. Enter a name such as Entry Keypad or Garage Keypad and touch Add New to save.

Using the Keypad After Enrollment

Once enrolled, the IQ Keypad PG is immediately active. Enter any valid user code on the keypad to arm or disarm the system from anywhere in the home. The LED status lights show the current system state at a glance — Ready, Armed, Trouble, and AC Power. The keypad also has a panic button for emergency situations.
