How Do I Connect an IQ Keypad Prox-PG to the IQ Panel 5?

To connect an IQ Keypad Prox-PG to the IQ Panel 5, swipe down, touch Settings, Advanced Settings, enter the Installer Code (1111 by default), go to Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, and touch Auto Learn. Trip the tamper on the keypad, set Sensor Type to Keypad, and touch Add New.

What Is the IQ Keypad Prox-PG

The IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is compatible with the IQ Keypad Prox-PG, a PowerG wireless LCD keypad with a built-in proximity tag reader. It gives you a secondary arming and disarming point anywhere in your home without running any wires. The keypad communicates with the panel over the same encrypted PowerG radio used by your security sensors — no daughter card or extra hardware required.

In addition to the standard numeric keypad for entering user codes, the IQ Keypad Prox-PG includes a proximity tag reader so authorized users can arm and disarm the security system by tapping a programmed proximity tag rather than entering a code. The keypad also displays status lights for Ready, Armed, Trouble, and AC Power. If you want the same functionality without the prox reader, the IQ Keypad-PG is available as a simpler alternative.

Steps to Connect the IQ Keypad Prox-PG

1. Mount and power on the IQ Keypad Prox-PG. Install batteries or connect power to the keypad per the manufacturer's instructions. Position it within PowerG range of the IQ Panel 5 — PowerG has a long range, typically reaching throughout most homes.

2. Swipe down from the top of the screen and touch Settings. The Settings page opens.

Using the Keypad After Enrollment

Once enrolled, the IQ Keypad Prox-PG is immediately active. Enter any valid user code to arm or disarm the system from the keypad. If you have programmed proximity tags through User Management on the panel, tap a paired tag against the keypad's reader to arm or disarm without entering a code. The status lights show the current system state at a glance — Ready (green), Armed (red), Trouble (yellow), and AC Power. The keypad supports monitoring plan features including full arm and disarm event logging. You can add up to 3 PowerG keypads to a single panel. For additional home automation control, the Alarm.com app gives you remote arming and status from anywhere.

Connecting the IQ Keypad Prox-PG to your IQ Panel 5 adds a wireless arming and disarming point with proximity tag access anywhere in your home on the IQ Panel 5.
